2000 attack on a leilan harbinger ×12.25 team, or a cao cao ×9 team, or a shiva ×9 team, or a goemon ×25 team is no pushover. With decent awakenings and a good skill once lowered, I don't see how he "sucks". Yeah he isn't a great leader but you don't go into descends with echidna as your leader right? Again, some are just amazing subs. Put him in one of those teams with a flamie and tell me you don't like what happens

"decent awakenings"? With a double DPA on a 25x spike team and already 2000 attack he can do damage rivaling L/L ra. add in a king flamie and the damage is unthinkable. double TPA's are (in my opinion) the best possible awakenings.

For those of you saying he's useless end game, is a completely bs statement. As a leader, sure, he's useless end game, but as a sub, he's one of the best I've used. I have a team consisting of Anubis (ult form) as a leader, Kagu (ult form), Sasuke (ult form), Awoken Shinji, a yellow Valk (ult form) with Kushi as a friend. I decimate the high level dungeons, esp w/ kagu's attack being over 2000. Plus, on the chance I fight a boss with over 1 mil defense, he knocks it down to 250k, making it easier for me to knock out. I personally think he's underrated, and has many uses on as a sub.

I'd use him in hera descended when I'm battling Neptune. Otherwise, I'd use him to crush the souls of innocent pengdras.

This monster is a serious, meh. Even tho he has a high attack, and he has two prong awakening. The ult Evoed Athena can do wayy more attack wise. His active skill his okay, but even when its max skilled, 15 turns is quite alot.

Kagutsuchi may not be completely useless, but he comes pretty close. There are some monsters that simply aren't worth the time and effort needed in raising them. THIS one is one of them. If you can find a way to use him, congrats. However, there are too many superior monsters out there for people to desire Kagutsuchi.

I might be wrong but the damage from his leader skill seems to be colorless. Blue monsters don't have any damage reduction versus it. Also meaning that the damage is not multiplied versus green monsters.

He's a fantastic sub. Look at his attack power. His active is pretty beast as well, especially against any dungeon where monster defense is an issue. Put him on a row enhance team. Put him on a two-prong team. Not sure where all the hate is coming from.

I'd almost consider his active skill to be similar to morningstar... at max level/+99, it'll deal 125k damage, 250k to wood monsters...
If it was max skilled, it would be even more comparable - 15 turns / 125k compared to 25 turns / 300k...
It just takes a hell of a lot more work to get it to that point.

I use him as sub for his stats, attacker type, dark/red colors and armor break. I wish his active broke 100% armor instead of 75%; 30 CD to start is just too much compared to Shiva's 22 CD and 100% armor break plus orb enhance.

Has anyone tried this on a shiva dragon team? HP is low, but everything else seems a good fit for a tpa-heavy build with those leads.

I was thinking the same thing. I just pulled one and was looking at the awoken version for the extra tpa but realized he loses god typing and therefore a huge portion of damage from Shiva Dragon leader skill. Also, with attacker type I can use him with Urd and Nim for the burst multiplier. Oh decisions, decisions...

The skill sounds great but you have to remember you're giving up a leader skill to get this. In higher level dungeons they just don't work.

Example: let's run it thru the first level of Ocean of Heaven (not even a super high level dungeon).

Dual Kagutsuchis can do 20,000 damage a turn. Let's be generous and say your team is made up of guys that all have 2,000 attack. The first 5 floors are easy as pie provided you don't run into a mystic mask (Kagu's leader skill will do 0 damage, not 1). Now look at the boss. In 5 turns you'll be one shotted. So you need to do 510,000 damage. With Kagu you're only doing about 56,000 damage a turn (and that's being generous) which is 280K. He won't die and you won't survive. Sure if you have the right subs with the right active skills (you might be able to survive, but it's going to be really tough.

Now... imagine running a team with multipliers like a dual Haku team. We can even make it far weaker than the dual Kagu team. Let's say they only do 1,000 damage each guy and they only manage to combo up to 12,000 damage combined. That's 147K/turn and 735K before the boss hits.

Kagu's leader skill becomes more and more useless as the dungeons get harder. As the dungeons get harder sadly enough you pretty much need either an extremely survivable team or a team that does ridiculous damage. Kagu teams are neither.

Odin is better in that he can be a survival team leader... if the dungeon doesn't purposely try to screw with Odin teams.

@b----n yeah that's all true... but I use him pretty extensively. Not saying there aren't better leaders out there, as there are. But he blows through the early levels on his leader skill alone, and his active does massive amounts of damage and breaks armor to boot. I pair him with an Awoken Odin ally and lots of auto-recover, and do just fine. On Ocean of Heaven's last dungeon (I've been farming it lately) I two shot Neptune: Kagutsuchi active skill, then Odin skill. Done.

Obviously, he's useless in descended dungeons, but in general I feel he's undervalued. He's served me well.

The leader skill is not really OP. It's great for clearing trash monsters from something like Thursday dungeon, but it doesn't have any real value in harder normal dungeons or descendeds.

Um, Divine Masks have 60,000 DEF and Mystic Masks have 100,000 DEF.
Divine Masks DO have 9999 ATK though, so I can kind of see where you pulled that number but burn leader skills are pretty bad.

Whatever your Kagutsuchi's attack is will be multiplied by 5 and will blast every enemy if you match at least one set of orbs. So if your Kagutsuchi has 2,000 atk, it would hit 10,000 on all enemies if you match a set that turn.

with a dark and green team and an attack multipying leader. you can take out oceans with only an orb change or two. One or two shots to take out boss tops.
I use:

Divine Flying General Lubu (max Lvl)
Queen of condemnation Persephone (lvl 59)
High Wood ninja (lvl 22)
Hellwing Taur Demon (lvl 57)
Duke vampire lord (lvl 39)
Extant Red Dragon Claller Sonia (various levels)

easy peasy. I Don't even need lubu's skill, just at least a row or two combos of dark to take out Verche in one shot. Woods are mainly for level before boss. Otherwise, your set.

I would like this monster for my Coa Coa team though. I want those two two pronged attacks. Thats like a 2x for attacker type active but can go on teams other than attacker as well if you wish. I don't know if I'd ever even get around to skilling him up either. his awakenings are just that good.

please do note that dual kagutsuchi or combine with other "burner" monsters such as echidna, the damage is combined. let say a floor with some mystic mask (9999 def) and your kagutsu is max level with no +eggs (so atk is 10,000)and your friends echidna can do 5000 damage. when you match a set of orbs the burn damage will be 5,001 and instantly burn those masks to crisps. kagutsu's leadership is meant to get through easy farming dungeons even easier and faster. as for the active skill, its not VERY useful BUT it does manage to deal 100,000 damage and break 75% defense without +eggs. thats not as bad now does it?

Is this guy usefull enough as a sub in dungeons with bosses that boot very high defense? I think about using him as an Shiva substitution. With his high attack and Red/Black combination he probably works pretty well in my Ares team and I am stuck with the Sea God of Heaven Dungeon...

He desperately needs a cooldown buff. Something like 25 max and 10 min... Otherwise this guy ends up as nothing else but a boxsitter.
I don't even ask for a better leader skill, just make him useful as a sub, GungHo!

I'm not sure if it's worth to switch into Awoken form when I use him only in my Urd team together with Nim. Maybe if I could make other decent fire teams but no luck with REM rolls recently.

*2 yrs later* proud owner of attacker Hino. God got nothing on him and now(3/31) he got a cd reduction(10 to 5) which is perfect for skill inheritance, I can even put board change on him now.

this god really needs some love. hes useless really. does it even matter if he can clear some of the easiest dungeons in the game slightly faster than any other character? he has zero end game utility.

I find it funny how you can say this guy has no utility. He is awesome as a mono red attacker team sub.His awakenings are legit,stats are solid and is active is very useful. Come on people stop summing up monsters based on their leader skill.

Poor Hino. naga getting his skill totally kills what little value he had. since everyone has naga & ROdin totally out classed his active skill. (highly doubt hino gets another ultimate evolution) *sigh* now his only reason to live is maybe his attack...
(dont even get me started on his awokening skills... xD)

they should be rename him " Hino The Japanese God Drop Out!!! "

Hardly. As a leader yeah he sucks for high level play, but not all monsters were meant to be leaders. His 75% armor reduction is extremely useful in a lot of the current descends (the 50x damage less so). He has a high amount of attack with a moderate amount of health and recovery for an attacker and while his awokens aren't ideal, there are a skill up and a 10% row enhance with a two pronged attack could be a lot worse.

Hino can also be used to clear Super kings. It takes a while to charge, but it works if you do not have any other options.

Super kings can be cleared with big damage attack to X att. enemies such as Midnight Weast werewolf for gold super kings and Wood Samurai Ogre for water super kings. aslo, 77 damage on all enemies works too. Its called Solar Lazer. Ra has is and so does BAO Venon-Enhanced Bane who is farmable in a collab. All of these skills take them out in one shot. No need for reduction of defense. The largest cool down for any of these skills is 15 too. Not to long to wait, especially if you have some skill ups in your awakenings.
