This ult evo was a nice surprise. I had the feeling Typhon would get his Mega Awoken around the same time as Ilm because of the lore, yet his last ult seemed somewhat recent.

He's quite the powerful leader, with not only 4/144/1 multipliers but damage reduction on top. He can also make use of a Kuroyuri auto-heal loop, which only makes it better. Alternatively, using a heart orb enhance sub can be just as effective, because part of his damage multiplier comes from matching 4 connected hearts. The issue there is the lack of accessible dragon types with heart OE.

He's improved as a sub too, essentially Anaphon but replacing the "outdated" damage awakenings with 7cs. His active might be better for teams that capitalize in dragon types, replacing the haste with a small burst while retaining the low cooldown. The two drawbacks of this are than he loses Balanced typing, and thus can only use healer or machine killers (though his 7cs compensate for that) and the lack of super awakenings.

I can see that GH tried to make Ilm and Typhon's Mega evos very similar, as they both have:

* Only one type, but two attributes
* Mostly balanced stat spreads
* Bind immunity, two damage awakenings, and a killer (in that order)
* A board active with a 2x burst
* 4/144/1 (resist 43.75) leader skills

What's weird is...this is the first Mega evo that changes the sub attribute, right?

Pai Pai gets dark, Roots got blue. (Ehw)

Drew, you should do card reviews in a more public forum, like the PAD Reddit. Would love to read all your thoughts in one place.

Yeah, I guess there were a few I forgot about.

Sherias getting blue kinda made sense because he's rainbow-based and didn't cover blue before.
Danta's blue also makes sense because of Mel
Typhon's red sub att not only works with his board but is lore-related...? (He and Gadius combine their power to fight Ilm)

I'm happy with this evolution. Sometimes I worry that GH developers are more concerned with game favorites to do every monster justice. This announcement was a pleasant surprise.

Which is better this or the ana evo?

As of his new update, he’s extremely compatible with Valeria and MP Myr.
