Your team is still just as good as it was before this card was released though. :(

Yes, but newer and harder content is constantly being released, and older teams can't keep up.

For those who don't want to sit through it, here's a summary: Sasuke rolled Kinnikuman after—

wait for it—

a whopping

110 stones!!
And his SECOND one at 140 stones.
and his third at 245 stones.
and finally akuma shogun at 250 stones.

Is it worth not eating for a month or eight? Probably not.
But who cares when you've got 100k HP amirite

I know I have Kaede and am a bit biased... but at least she needs effort to be able to tank.

Having over a hundred thousand HP out the gate seems ridiculous to me.

This is waaaaay too much. Just bring in quick orb changers and you can defeat almost anything. TPAs are really just optional with that kind of Leader Skill.

• Kinnikuman
• Awoken Minerva
• chibiyome
• Awoken Kagutsuchi
• **utility**

I think the only things that would be problematic in this case are gravities, especially ones bundled in some damage based movesets. Someone like Sha Wujing in the Journey to the West Descended, for example, whom 99%s and then hits for 19000 or so.

Low health creatures with resolve+insta-kill movesets could be problematic since you will most likely hit very hard since you can't match 3 orbs anymore and you risk orb fall RNG messing with you if you try to match more orbs together (to avoid two prongs). It's obviously doable, but it will slow down your run if the intention was to clear fast.

In those situations, a cross leader is actually faster and safer due to the shield cutting considerably into the damage output of both the gravity and the after attack. This can then be followed up by poking the monster's 1 health.

Of course, if you know that can happen in a dungeon you probably wouldn't run that team anyways.

Definitely a solid farming build. For that matter quite a few descended as well. Only true end game risks are: no protection from gravity, bind, resolve, skill bind and skill delay. The appropriate utility sub and skill inheritance can cover some of the risks. It would be tough to cover all of them (for things like arena) with one build though.

Watched the scarlet system video. I think I was a bit over cautious.

Yeah dude Scarlet system is waaaay too OP. They purposely made Kinnikuman at a 7-turn cooldown JUST for this.

Needless to say, if this comes to NA, MAN. My Scarlets are READY.

Is this insanity or something? The demerit is way too light for a 100x and tank like HP and RCV.
Pinkie_Pie 3 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
I think we can tell how much more they paid for this collab than others, lol. So much OP!
By Guest 3 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
Too OP. Like Kaede, but the shield is unconditional...
Trap@PF in reply to Jay 3 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
You're wrong about the first part; a 75% shield is effectively 4x HP and RCV in the context of straight damaging moves. You're correct about the gravity bit though.

Shields don't work exactly the same way as HP and RCV buffs.

Both increase your survivability by essentially increasing your HP and RCV totals. I say "essentially" since how they do it is different.

A pure stat buff contributes to the related base stats; it is always "fixed" once you enter a dungeon (unless a leader gets binded or you have a RCV boosting active).

A shield's potential HP boost fluctuates depending on the severity of the attack. The stronger the attack, the more damage reduced.

For example using a 50% shield*:

100 damage->50, damage blocked=50
1,000 damage->500, damage blocked=500
10,000 damage->5,000, damage blocked=5,000

Effectively you would have had 50 more health in scenario 1, 500 more health in scenario 2 and 5,000 more health in scenario 3.

So what happens then if you're not dealing with a fixed amount of damage and rather a variable amount (%)?

In the case of a pure health boost you would lose whatever percentage of your current health remains.

For example:

50% gravity of 10,000 = 5,000 damage taken
100% gravity of 10,000 = 10,000 damage taken = death

However with a shield:

50% gravity X 50%* X 10,000 = 2,500 damage taken

100% gravity X 50%* X 10,000 = 5,000 = living it up

The important distinction is that shields always do better when taking a gravity hit since you take a much lower percentage of your current health. Even if you had 100,000 health, a 99% gravity would leave you with a paltry 1,000 health. Meanwhile, a shield team would simply lose slightly less than half their health with a 50% shield*.

*Most commonly used cross leaders have a 75% shield with both leaders factored in. I used 50% here since it's faster to calculate. It also means on average, you're taking even less damage than what's shown in those calculations.

Didn't know if I should post here as my comment applies to others in this collaboration as well. There is a very obvious power creep with this series. This has happened before. It is part of the cycle of growth with the game. The thing that concerns me is what comes next.

In the past there was a "broken" card released. Everyone complained. Then dungeons got substantially harder. The creep became the new norm. You had to have a "broken" card just to compete. How bad will a dungeon be that requires this kind of tank/spike combo?

Also in the past many cards would receive buffs or evolutions to get to the new normal"broken" level. But what is left to break? Most pantheons have awoken evolutions. Plus eggs and tamadras are common and easily obtainable. Godfest rates are at 4x or higher.

Will a new super awoken evolution come out? Will there be many new pantheons? Will dungeons really become so difficult this type of power is required?

Not exactly broken:
- Resolve, which is his biggest weakness, obviously. You can only choose between 1x/64x/100x multiplier. Very poor damage control.
- Bind, which is another problem, if i recall, fire has a very limited pool of bind clearer.
- Gravity, aka Kinnikuman killer. If there's only 3 hearts on the board then you are doomed. Better have a contigency plan by inheriting a heart spawning active.
- Combo shield. Man, this will make him struggle for sure. 4 combos are fine, but 5 or more combos for 999 turns seems like a big problem.

The answer came in the form of revos.
BlenderKid in reply to Guest 2 years ago ( 9.5.1 )
-Damage control: The damage actually goes 4/64/100, and you can always use sub attributes to chip that resolve away
-Blind clear, it doesn't matter now since all you need in an unbindable fire monster (i.e. revo minerva) and just skill transfer over a bind clear active
-Combo Shields: Not as big of a problem as one would think, seeing how I personally have been playing noct since he came out in NA, even without using a combo increase, but at the same time, it's usually easier with a 3-orb board changer, such as leilan and urd, or a skill transferred zuoh or saria
-Gravity: There are plenty of fire monsters that can spawn heal orbs without wasting a slot
