gungho, why can't this be the REM Monster and Ryune be the skill up fodder?

Because it's the dragon Ryune made a pact with. It wouldn't make sense for the originator to gain power by consuming the borrower.

well it would make sense if ryune was some weak rando lady who wanted some power and borrowed some from a significantly stronger being.

but why would you want a wet slobbery sea dragon thing instead of an awesome kick but dragon lady? i mean she actually looks cool and strong, dynamic, and athletic, shes not even the typical oppai posey fanserivce cards always shoving their great Big...uh ...Stats in your face.

Also if you look at Ryune's art, this shark is in the background on the right. Pretty awesome how they tied them together.
