I like that they kept the string as a major part of his artwork. It's a very nice touch.

Bear in mind, the string, named Gleipnir, is made of:

The sound of a cat's footfall
The beard of a woman
The roots of a mountain
The sinews of a bear
The breath of a fish
The spittle of a bird

Yeah. I guess it's better than having Tyr's hand stuck in his teeth or a sword stuck in his mouth!

could also use his actives to ulter poison skyfull climate. I think his active aims more to put an end to useless skyfall climate rather than to create a one-turn jammer skyfall climate

Is this proven, the Poison debuff? Until now, a skyfalls could only be overwritten by a skyfall of the same element.

Even if you did pull the one you want, you'd still find something to complain about. Seriously tired of seeing whiners like you and countless others on these boards. "In the good old days" we used to be able to go to these pages and see some constructive criticism on the card, or ideas, or shoot man, even a youtube link.

I am just super super bummed I cannot learn anything anymore from reading the comment sections. And Jerry is MIA. I'm a sad panda.

Would you like to go back to the good ol' days where Jewels were impossible to get, it took 10 minutes per stamina to recharge, there were no X10 plus egg descend events, and stones were almost never given away?

Be happy for change dude. This game has evolved quite nicely.
0
Dawn 3 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
I see your point with more of these making it harder to get the one you want, but that's just the game growing (and in this case trying something I never thought they'd try to pull). I'm fine with new cards being added as long as they add to the experience and fun, though I don't really like it when something comes out that creates a big disbalance. That's just me though and I'm going to be disappointed when that omnipotent card comes out if it hasn't already, but I can't complain if I choose to stick with teams I like.

So now if you miraculously get 9 jammers and 5 colors you get 400x attack with dual fenrir leads

9 jammers + 5 colors * 3 orbs min. of each color = 24 orbs minimum needed for activation

So after you make your 9 jammers and 15 required orbs for colors, you have 6 orbs left on a normal board, which leaves room for TPA or even a row with the correct orb moving shenanigans.

Problem is that his active might take away orbs that you need to activate the LS. Considering you need 24/30 orbs on the board as is with a perfect activation board, the chance that he won't spawn away the orbs you need to hit the max multiplier is relatively low

Luckily, 100x with 9 jammers already outputs enough damage for most descends...

Jammer meta is legit power creep once they add enough REM jammer creators to fulfill this guy's ideal team
0
VGM 3 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
Keep in mind that both Gainaut and Jörmungandr create full boards with jammers. Also, his leader skill has now been buffed to four attributes for x4 and five for x6.25 with double leads, making it x400 for nine jammers and four attributes and x625 for nine jammers and five attributes.

So I'm guessing we're getting a Tyr descended to use as fodder for Fenrir's Awoken form. Bonus points if the art for the Tyr to be used for the ultimate has of both his hands in it, (perhaps giving Tyr an Ult with his right hand missing).

If we ever see Fenrir as a mini-boss I hope it Binds Tyr and insta-kill's any team with an Odin (maybe with a skill called Ragnarok) if too many turns elapse.
1
By Zero 3 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
I know there's potential here with that massive ATK multiplier, but I'm still bummed that it'd require all those jammer orbs.

A cooler active skill might've been to turn all light orbs into jammer orbs (since he eats the sun if I recall correctly) and increase damage against gods for a turn or something. That'd allow you to count 9 light orbs to prep at least.

...Hell, I dunno. I'm rambling. I'm not really a fan of this as it stands.

Fenrir
Fenrir
Fenrir
Fenrir
Fenrir

Six skillboosts, full skill bind resistance, six time extends, constant jammer skyfall, and triple damage towards gods for the whole team

With all of them max skilled, you can use a skill evey turn and at least guarentee a 16x multiplier, but with all the jammer skyfall and stuff, you should be able to get higher than that. I'd say you'd probably get around a 64x on average, assuming you have an average of four jammer orbs on each board from skyfall. Seems like a pretty neat team.

That is actually a good idea considering you can roll that many lol

I think 5 fenrirs, 4 on your own and 1 friend is good enough. The last should be a utility. Dark unbindable unbinder. Aamir is really good in this case as he provides finger, 4 turn unbind and is unbindable.

It's funny how the LS rating is so high then the AS rating is considerably lower, I mean what complaints do you have towards an AS that is in perfect sync with this LS?
2
Daniel9dsi in reply to Taupe1030 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
But the whole point of getting new monsters is so that you can put them in your own teams. Sure, only comparing to itself would be more objective, but what would the point be? It's extremely important that the card fits well in different teams, because if it doesn't, its usefullness is basically zero. The examples that you used, like a full board of fire or 2x God attack for one turn, arent really a good comparison to Fenrirs active. Of course there are teams that they don't fit well in. But the fact remains that there are plenty of teams where they DO work extremely well, which is why they high ratings overall. An active like Fenrirs doesn't really fit on ANY team other than his own.

For example, let's say I was reviewing a monster with an active skill that does nothing and a leader skill that says, "All att cards attack X10 when this card uses an active." If you only looked at the card itself and how its different components worked together, the active fits the leader skill perfectly. However, would you not agree that an active that is only useful if the card itself is the leader isn't a very good active? If it's only useful in that one certain situation, then overall it isn't very useful at all.

Taupe1030 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Also, judging a card by its own is more objective than judging a card by looking at how well it fits into other teams, because we all have different teams. It wouldn't be fair to rate an AS 0/10 just because it doesn't work well with what I have.
0
Daniel9dsi 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Well I mean when looking at an active skill you don't just compare it to other aspects of the same card. You gotta look at the big picture and the fact is that his active, while useful for his own leader skill, isn't very useful in other teams, which lowers the overall usefulness of the active
0
Taupe1030 in reply to Daniel9dsi 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
You're right, but it's very essential that the AS doesn't work against the LS, more important than it having synergies with another team. If it doesn't create jammers (let's say create 3 Dark and 3 Heart instead), the created orbs would also replace existing jammers, which contradicts its LS, making the card absolutely dysfunctional on its own.

Objectively, creating a board of fire orbs or God attribute cards Atk x2 are great actives, but they aren't nearly as good on a water monster or a devil monster. My point is, you should compare the AS to other aspects of the same card, because a card's strength is mostly determined by how good is it by its self, then its synergies with others.

Taupe1030 in reply to Daniel9dsi 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )

This seems really tricky to use. I don't know if there are any subs that can create Jammers. Most of the time you'd have to rely on enemy attacks creating Jammers for you, and that could potentially ruin damage potential. Along with that, you can't have any Resistance-Jammers awakenings.
2
splinteye in reply to Chinny 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
They won't. Resist-type Awakenings only block things the enemy does. They won't interrupt your own moves.

This actually brings up an interesting point; would a player's jammer resist awakenings conflict with the new jammer-creating actives? I wouldn't think so, right?

By Tanga 3 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
Wow. This is a very specific leader skill and it would be hard to base a team around it. I can think of three strategies.

One is to store jammers so that you can use them as necessary to spike. For instance, if you could store two 2x2 blocks of jammers at the bottom of the screen you'd have a 7x multiplier (49x with twin Fenrirs) available on demand.
The second is to use Fenrir in conjunction with a sub like the New Year Tengu that can switch to the leader position. Stall until you can switch Fenrir out, then switch him back in to spike.
Finally, I suppose you could match Fenrir with a helper lead that gives a low but consistent multiplier, and use the jammers to spike when necessary. That loses most of the benefit, but could still let you take some specific dungeons.
0
By Illucio 3 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
Just rolled four of him today. Might as well keep them for the team. (Especially since we're getting all these jammer monsters.)

At first glance this guy looks terrible, but with enough investment this guy can easily be mighty powerful. The only problem. He needs to be bind-resistant for him to even be remotely reliable.
If anything about him changed his Active needs to boost his skyfall for jammers by a turn or two. Then bind resistance.

The last thing about this guy is that you still need dark orbs and as long as skyfall for jammers is only one turn you need a full board change so you can completely wipe the board to get more jammers on the turn afterwards. (So like use Ronia then Fenrir skill to make 3 more darks and 3 jammers for his 4x then clear board. Then pray skyfall for jammers and dark orbs.)

Mmhmm. Interesting

By Dan 3 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
Getting a good supply of Jammers is clearly the challenge of using Fenrir in just any dungeon, but I actually think with enough haste actives on the team you can make do with dual lead Fenrir actives. I like the idea of Zaerog Infinity (whose active thankfully will not overwrite Fenrir's or vice versa) on the team to speed up wait time between Fenrir actives while boosting Dark skyfall.

What else though? As far as Dark haste actives, Awoken Pandora would probably be good. Satsuki and Awoken Haku would clear any stored Jammers but you could still pull off a 49x if you use two Fenrirs right after. Maybe it'd even be worth your while to put non-Dark hastes on your team, especially if they fill important utility roles (Amaterasu, Susano). Any thoughts?

x400 attack for dual leaders if meeting all leader skill conditions???? 10x max for the one half, and a 2x max for the second part, so if you have 2 of them as lesders, then you can get a x400 multiplier, if I'm not mistaken. That beats having Dual awoken ra leaders!

Assuming that the Fenrir leaders are the only ones with the godkiller awakening on your team and that all of your monsters are doing roughly the same amount of damage, the godkiller awakenings will boost the entire team's damage by about 66%, giving you an average multiplier of about 666x

Once Gungho decides to give us an Heart to Jammer Orb Changer, Lightning Sky Stubborn Dragon King, Gainaut's Board change is going to destroy the power creep. Guaranteed ATK x144 with a pretty good chance of achieving ATK x400 and thats before the TPA and God Killer. 2 years from now we're going to look back and 50,000,000 damage coming from one unit after 2 actives will be much too low!

Dual Fenrir leads
Ultimecia (2785)
Jörmungandr (2639)
Doomsday (2833)
Shuten-Doji (2805)

You have a rainbow team to fully utilize his leader skill, plus a 2x spike, full board clear with a poison for resolve bosses, 2 jammer skyfalls, and every single sub makes jammers. Plus all subs are fully farmable so max skilling them all is quite doable.

6 time extends, 3 TPA, 2 god killers. 40% skill bind resist and 60% poison resist. Seems like the biggest problems are lack of RCV and binds. Trade either the Doomsday or Ultimedia in for a dark Ceres or Awoken Amaterasu/Sakuya and solve both.

I'd stay away from Hephaestus because he breaks dark.

EDIT: Also now that Hanuman is released, max skill him up and you've got on average 1 extra jammer per turn.

I personally run: Fenrir, Fenrir, Fenrir, Gainaut, and Jörmungandr. Jörmungandr can be substituted with Awoken Isis if the dungeon you're doing has monsters that bind often (unless you can kill them beforehand). Obviously if you can't get multiple Fenrir subs, the latter 2 subs are definitely worth it for a decent Fenrir team.

I'm using Fenrir with my lu bu team to farm kog 5. On Zeus use ilm → vector finn→Fenrir→hadar →lu bu. With both ls leader skill @ x12 and x3 from lu bu, Fenrir still does about the same damage as lu bu, their attack being almost the same. Am I doing something wrong, or does the god killer not work with an active skill?

Killer damage doesn't show on the cards like normal multipliers, it multiplies once the attack hits. I'm pretty sure you should see the multiplied number on zeus.

SirOsis>>s in reply to lizarudon 3 years ago ( 9.0.3 )
Yup, exactly...you'll notice the after burst of damage from the killer awakenings displayed on the bottom of the effected enemy in a smaller font and different color immediately following the initial dmg reduction from LS and "normal" AS. It will also drain from the enemy at about treble the pace of "normal" damage.

Fenrir is a jammer-oriented monster, which means that you want cards which create jammers. However, as these are quite rare (since jammers mostly are harmful orbs), the most useful part of his leader skill (assuming you want him to be a lead, as he is useless for any other purposes) is the rainbow colour match, which gives your team 2.5x multiplier (soon to be 4.5x). The some subs for Fenrir are Algedi and Acubens, which spawn 3 jammer orbs on a relatively short cool down. Another great sub (probably the best) is Fenrir Viz, but unfortunately this card is a 6-star godfest exclusive, which makes it quite a rare pull. However, it is exceptionally useful as it converts fire orbs and heal orbs to jammer orbs on a 3 turn cool down when fully maxed. However, please note: a) i’m still pretty new as well (only rank 236), and b) Fenrir is a terrible lead, at least right now. Still, the max possible multiplier for him is 2025x, which is the highest in the game. The reason he isn’t good is because he has limited sub options and relies on what is normally harmful orbs to deal meaningful damage. However, if you have nothing else, go wild :)

Denebola is a jammer maker also.

Help me out here. I just pulled him. Is his leader skill really a 45x multiplier by himself..?! If so, dual leads meeting all the conditions would give you x2025. That is just ridiculous. And here I thought my reincarnated Anubis was the sh!!

(Assuming you are leading a mono-dark Fenrir team)

As Fenrir has to match 9 connected jammers on top of 5 colors to reach the max Atk multiplier, thus Fenrir can usually match only 1 dark combo while Anubis can match 3~4.

1 x 2025 is less than 3 x 900, so I guess Anubis usually wins.

Of course you can be lucky enough to have enough dark orbs (6 ~ 9... 9 is as much as we can get, otherwise you won't have enough of other orbs to reach 2025x Atk), then Fenrir could do a great deal more damage than Anubis.

However that comes with a price, is that Fenrir usually have to sacrifice Heart Orbs for more dark orbs for more damage.
It is already risky that you don't have any tankiness to begin with, plus you have to indirectly lower your healing capability in exchange for more dark orbs and jammers, therefore Fenrir is a great deal more risky than Anubis.

Mind you, it's just my opinion, but I am not a professional Fenrir user.
You might gain some more useful advices from more experienced ones out there.

I am happy to get this card. My first orb changer was Denebola when i was still under 50 rank. I didn't know much (still don't. Lol) but i was able to beat dungeons that i couldn't before i got her. So glad they recently upgraded her. Anyway, i look forward to giving fenrir a try in dungeons that throw a lot of jammers at you.

If I ever pull this monster from the egg machine, I'm going to quit PAD after almost 3 years and delete my account. Like Donald should have deleted his Twitter account when Hillary told him to. You know, now that I think of it, this monster with absurdly backwards mechanics, but insanely destructive, is exactly the kind of monster that Donald's administration would design for the average, middle class, PAD playing citizen. Maybe it did come from Donald, I don't know, but it could have.
