!!!PSA!!!

DON'T EVOLVE UNTIL THE DRAGON PLANTS SKILLS ROTATE BACK TO THE SONIA'S!!

Currently (January 29, 2016) it isn't on the right rotation. Wait for the correct rotation, AND x2 or x2.5 Skill Up Chance during events!!

(posting in both Blonia's and Gronia's Ultimate pages)

GREAT NEWS PEEPS!! Finally after two months of waiting, the Dragon Fruits are rotating back to the Sonia Skill-Ups NEXT SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2016.

Not only that, but it'll be at a 3x Skill-Up rate!! This is great news for players with Sonias who aren't max skilled (like me lol)

I don't know why this received negative votes. Here take my upvote, you probably saved me a potential skill up. I hope they rotate the skills to Sonias soon. Even thought I'm not in a huge rush to use her, I'm excited to evo her ^^

Thanks, dude! I know, it's weird. They should at least say why they downvoted, right? Just trying to help fellow players out!

In any case, do let me know how many skill ups I saved you lol

Woke up this morning and saw a friend had evolved to the new Gronia.
In my exuberance, I forgot about the skill rotation (which I was previously aware of).
Mistakes were made, and my Gronia is still stuck at skill level 3.
But at least she has a new Threedia buddy!

EDIT: I've been Gung-trolled again, but you got my upvote for your mindful comment.

It sucks that she doesn't affect attackers since that's what most of the green row subs are (artemis, michael, freyja, ishida)

Just want to point out that the Japanese translation of the leader skill: ドラゴンとバランスタイプの攻撃力と回復力が2.5倍。木を5個以上つなげると攻撃力が1.5倍, suggests 5 OR MORE wood orb, instead of exactly 5 wood orbs (what I interpreted in the English translation), to activate the 1.5x attack.
0
gummyapple 2 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Can someone confirm this? The site still says only 5.

Steve in reply to gummyapple 2 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
I just evolved mine, in-game leader description is:

2.5x ATK & RCV for Dragon & Balanced Types; 1.5x ATK when erasing 5+ linked Wood Orbs

I did a full-board green (30 linked orbs), got the 1.5x bonus. Seems like the site is currently incorrect. (still love the site though)

Which is more correct than the EU version, as at least 5 need to be cleared. Little pedantic but forgivable.

Hey, what about this team?

Gronia
UUU Bei
Sylvie
Alnair
Ceres
Gronia

This team rocks 10 rows, bind recovery, orb changers, and a ton of attack.

Possibly, descend material(?)

I would love feedback and suggestions to improve this build. I want to use my Gronia, but she's got to start being usable, y'know?

EDIT:
OK, I put the team in the simulator and hypermaxed it. It gives you 25,864 HP and 3,904 RCV before multiplication, (24,400 after). ATK multipliers are in the following (I'm not really sure if I'm doing this right, but here goes)

ATK:13,509. 1 row:

13,508×2.5×1.5×2.5×1.5×1.75×2(10 rows)=
664,846.
With 6.25 RCV, this is pretty sustainable.

These are just the stats.
I would like if you helped me do the calculations. Thank you all in advance!

yeah it would be like you have it with 2.5x*2.5x*1.5x*1.5x*2x but I'm not sure what the 1.75x came from... is that enhanced orbs or something?

Etherious in reply to Incognito 2 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
1.75 is the multiplier for the three extra orbs on the match a row (it's six orbs).

Now that her LS affects TPA, she would make effective teams with Verdandi, Liu Bei, and Parvati. I am thinking of teams like:

Gronia
Liu Bei
Liu Bei
Verdandi
Parvati
Verdandi

You can have 30k or so HP, more than enough rcv, and static 11.3-12.4x atk TPA with high burst active. Seems promising.

Can also use the classical Zeal as farmable dps sub, and the new Dragon Zombie + bind clear secondary skill as unbindable bind-clearer.

To be fair, she received a lot more boost from her Uvo than Ronia's Uvo. 130 more weighted stats as compare to Ronia's 30, 3 more useful awakening as compare to Ronia's 1, and a stronger and easier to activate extra portion of her leader skill.

Can't wait!.

Your math method is wrong; the multipliers stack multiplicatively, not additively. So Ronia is a 3x leader at best (9x with a fellow Ronia) while Blonia and Gronia are 3.75 leaders (basically 14x when paired with themselves).

Your points are good, though

I just wish gungho would stop releasing a family set of cards with of 3 or 4 different flavors of the same card and then deliberately making 1 or 2 elements elements significantly superior or inferior than the others. just like with the norn sisters, why randomly decide that "blue" norn should receive an extra star and be the queen out of her red and green sisters? just because? its all arbitrary. especially with some silly justification like oh but theres a 000.5% of difference of probability. They should all be the same value and probability with just different elements and typing. (or even the same typing) and people can just pick the color they need, color they need none of these silly feuds and that false mentality that 1 card in a trio family must always be the best/superior. If They can do it for golems and ogres they can do it for rare cards.

Except not really? Ronia is at best a 3.7x leader, where as Blonia and Gronia are 4x leades whose LSs synergize perfectly with their actives. You don't have to sacrifice rows (of which they both get one extra compared to Ronia, as they should) to try and get 6 combos, ruining that perfect 5-row board. They also get an orb enhance and a skill-bind resist, the latter of which is vital in most new content. I'd say it's a considerable upgrade by comparison.

It looks like all the subs I've been using on Ronia are the only good ones that would fit Gronia... Is this some weird hand-me-down share your sisters bra kind of thing cause wow. Gung-ho are you gona make the brown sister replaceable by the two white ones?

TLDR: (a short summary of everything below)
To put it simply: Gsonia is the strongest as row enhance team leader followed by Bsonia with Rsonia lacking as row enhance leader compared to the other two since her leader skill is worse and she lacks the 2nd row enhance. Also Rsonia doesn't lead dragons what a loser. HOWEVER I have not taken into account the strength of possible subs for each leader though it really shouldn't matter (devil or ballance/dragon or physical/dragon).

Espiro first of all I'd like to point out that Bsonia and Gsonia have a better leader skill than Rsonia due to a higher dmg increase (1.5x vs 1.2x) and because 5+ orb clear is easier or at least more in line with row enhance teams than 6+ combos. Sonia teams usually have a focus on row enhance regardless of the sonia you use and part of that is due to her skill making anywhere from 1 to 3 row enhances for you to create but only 4-5 combo if you go for row enhances.

2 Gsonia/Bsonia leaders with 8x row enhances (with 2 rows cleared)
2.5x*2.5x*1.5x*1.5x*1.8x*1.8x = 45.56x multiplier

2 Rsonia leader with 8x row enhances (with 2 rows cleared)
2.5x*2.5x*1.8x*1.8x = ................ 20.25x multiplier
2.5x*2.5x*1.2x*1.2x*1.8x*1.8x = 29.16x multiplier

Now realistically getting 6+ combo with Rsonia using her ability is almost never going to happen if you go for row enhances so the 1.2x*1.2x should be taken out but I'm going to leave it in to compare highest damage increase. Also I just randomly chose 8 row enhances (I almost did 6 for Rsonia because she lacks the 2nd row enhance).

ATK*Multiplier = Damage...
Gsonia: 1820*45.56x = 82,919
Bsonia: 1609*45.56x =73,306
Rsonia: 1925*29.16x = 56,133 (Rsonia dmg with 6+ combo)
Rsonia: 1925*20.25x = 38,981 (Rsonia dmg with <6 combo)

I'd like to point out right now that the actual damage dealt would be much higher since first off you aren't at a x1 combo and second you aren't clearing exactly 3 orbs for base damage.

Here are the three Sonias I am comparing if you weren't already aware...
Gsonia #2567 (currently on her page)
Bsonia #2566
Rsonia #1645

Subs are definitely important but I don't really know what is good for Rsonia or Bsonia since my only good monsters are wood att, balance type, and dragon type so I don't really have much of a reference for anything else. My team is fairly strong but 50 cost dungeons are difficult and some aren't even doable for me yet.

This is my current team

lvl 99 Gsonia.............. #914 (1dark/1wood row enhance)
lvl 85 Fafnir ............... #1096 (2wood row enhance)
lvl 89 Wee Jas........... #1705
lvl 62 Avalon Drake... #1131 (2wood row enhance)
lvl 99 Dragon Zombie #1062

Gsonia and Avalon Drake both have a similar skill changing orbs to only wood/dark and only wood/light. I usually use Avalon drake's skill (Wood/Light orbs) to burst down an enemy that isn't the boss so I can save Gsonia's ability for the boss. With Gsonia's ability (Wood/Dark orbs) I also use Fafnir's for 1.3x wood dmg, and Dragon Zombie's to enhance all the wood/dark orbs for a one turn high burst damage on bosses. Wee Jas is my healer, his ability gives me an extra turn and grants me a full row of heal orbs.

So everyone on my team serves to strengthen my attack for the turn I use Sonia's ability and my Avalon Drake and Wee Jas are there to help make sure I can survive to the boss in order to get that strong attack off. I think you should attempt to build a team similar to this OR look to get a good team with abilities similar to Sonia and Avalon Drake. Of course look out for those row enhances to help your team composition as well and keep at least 1 savior like my Wee Jas on your team.

Also to be clear when i said it shouldn't matter I meant that it shouldn't matter what types your Sonia's leader skill covers because you should be able to find suitable subs for each Sonia.

I recommend you get yourself two Ancient Draggie Knight, Zeal #1190, and two Corpse Wyrm, Dragon Zombie #1062. This is what I run on my Gronia team. Both are farmable, and when you team with another Gronia, you get two huge wombo combo damage spikes by activating Gronia->Draggie->Zombie. All dragons, all green or black, total synergy.
1
inkwolf in reply to Incognito 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
*sigh* True story. Draggie isn't easy to get. And no fun to skill up either. Which means he's always the bottleneck in the team, waiting for his active cool-down.

Some of the monsters from collab REMs come out at 10 cost and have pretty darn good leader skills to help you get through Draggie's dungeon. I'm hanging on to #695 Asuka from Evangelion, as well as #1687 Wonder Woman, and #1681 Green Arrow from the DC collab. Although I've always ended up using #677 Batman as the only 10 cost options on my friends list when Draggie rolls around seem to be other Batmans.

If you do have an un-evolved Batman, I can recommend using #1324 Extreme King Metal Dragon as subs. Only cost 1! Cheap!

---

Also, I just noticed that after raising him from a little baby Green Dragon, Gronia has apparently traded in Graviton Earth Dragon for Threedia. Didn't even go full Generate.

And now I see that ult evo Ronia and Blonia have also traded in their original dragons. So much for loyalty.

Why does Gronia have to have an edge over the other Sonias? It's not like youd be running them on the same teams...
0
Espiro in reply to Incognito 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Thanks for breaking that down for me incognito, I really appreciate it. Also, thanks for not being a total tool wipe like so many of us on here... Your point was consice and valid and helpful...

But I'm still having issues clearing dungeons with her, do subs really play little value when it comes to Sonias? I mean my rider Finn and vamp have been my life savers for most of the normal dungeons...
0
Incognito in reply to inkwolf 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
I want draggie so bad, my 10 cost teams aren't very strong yet so I haven't been able to do the dungeon. A second Dragon Zombie is easy to get and level though, i have mostly been using other dragon zombies as skill up food yet still only lvl 2 for 14 turns =/. I'd love to try out that team though especially with that delay from draggie to top things off.

Incognito in reply to inkwolf 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
just run 6 draggies to get more draggies so you can skill up your draggies with more draggies :D
