One of the prettiest artworks in the game!! I also love the fact that she shows a lot of sexy and skin in her previous artworks, but she took a huge U-turn for this one, while still maintaining the beauty and sexy. Gorgeous!

Also, imagine having a team full of her. That would give you 30 enhanced Awakenings. Maybe one can be switched out for a Fire enhancer just in case there isn't one enhanced orb on the screen lol.

I agree, Leilan is my favorite of the Chineese gods appearance wise. But this one and her awoken form take the cake. She is simply beautiful and elegant and cute and innocent all wrapped into one package. Some of her earlier forms aren't so innocent looking though lol, I like the new direction they have gone with her :)

Zuoh is starting to infest every new series until GungHo gives him a spiffy costume edition.

I don't know why, but the first of which that came to mind was a chibi Zuoh in a bigger Zuoh costume.

Btw, that dragon is a transformation of Fagan, note the hair style and energy ball :D

Doesn't the dragon in the left look a lot like Fagan?

Also, is Leilan drunk? O:

So does that mean that Holiday Chinese Celestials are going to be a thing now?

First we had Snow Star Byakko, Haku with a similar leader skill with her orbs, and now we have (my translation) Suzaku Princess of the First Day, Leilan? Guess that means we should expect Holiday Karin and Meimei soon.

I gotta give huge credit to whoever designed this New Years Leilan because I just love how innocent and gentle she looks.
I also think she'd make a great Santa sub amongst the three snow globe dragons because of her awakenings and her active skill.
Could she be Mrs. Claus, working with the two Santas and drawing power from Rouge, Vert, and Blanc to deliver red, green, and yellow presents to everyone?

So we have Christmas Sakuya, Christmas Haku and now New Year's Leilan. What about the other two? Well... how about:

Summer Surf Seiryuu, Karin (Water/Wood, same active as vanilla Karin, similar leader skill as NY Leilan but for Karin's orbs, Summer Egg Machine)

School Spirit Genbu, Meimei (Wood/Light, same active as vanilla Meimei, similar leader skill as NY Leilan but for Meimei's orbs, PAD Academy Egg Machine)

I'd say Tsubaki/ Shiva D. prefer this Leilan.

OE helps everything, even row teams, please do some math before talking nonsense.

5 OE is a minimum of 32.5% (1.25 x 1.06) damage increase for anything with at least 1 enhanced orb in it. With more than 1 enhanced orb it can be much more than 32.5%. This multiplies into your row bonus as its a separate effect.

This provides much more overall damage than an extra 2 rows on another sub. Unless your team is running all 3-4 row subs (and honestly 5 OE would probably even outdamage 3 rows, I haven't done the math) you would gain a substantial increase in damage by adding this card to a row team.

Example with 12 rows, 0 OE
1 row 2.2x, 2 rows, 3.4x, 3 rows, 4.6x

10 rows + 5 OE, 1 OE per row (replacing 1 sub with Leilan)
1 row 2.0 * 1.25 x 1.06 = 2.65x
2 rows 3.0 x 1.25 x 1.06 = 3.975x
3 rows 4.0 x 1.25 x 1.06 = 5.3x

Awoken leilan isn't god type so she doesn't work with Shiva dragon

tsubaki maybe but awoken leilan is just light years ahead of this one for shivaD

The simple answer to this is you want one of each on your Tsubaki team. You still want rows with Tsubaki so A.Leilan is really the perfect sub for her, this one is just about as good however by bringing raw damage to the table. Both of them would simply compliment each other nicely if on the same team plus give you two board changes.

New Years Leilan is SIGNIFICANTLY better than F/L Leilan for Shiva Dragon.

As in, "30-40% more damage for a single row in the average case" better.
Jathra has already provided some basic math, I can give you some full team and board theorycrafting if you desire more evidence.

Best Leilan for Shiva Dragon is F/L Leilan with a row and TPA. OE isn't useful for Shiva Dragon since his subs are row based. Except maybe if you also use Sanada. But you can't combo Leilan with him.

She makes a really good Lifive sub, lol.

All those orb enhances.

Lifive / Cao Cao / NY Leilan / Uriel / Yamato / Lifive

probably wouldn't need R/L Freyr, since Lifive provides orb enhancement, but his haste and two rows would be welcome.

Got her as a lucky first roll, and soon-to-be replacement for Kiriko on my Tsubaki team. The orb enhance will add some consistency and damage to the team, extra finger comes at a cost of an SBR so it's a tradeoff I guess.

Also, what the heck are the green/light enhances doing there? Feels like a waste of awakening slots for a collab 6-star (first world problems, i know)

Lunar@/r 2 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
While having more fire enhances is pretty nice, I actually like off color or sub color enhances to be on some cards. This allows for more naturally enhanced orbs to be present on a board. It doesn't matter how many fire enhances you have - they only enhance fire. But if Leilan in particular gives you 2-3 other orbs that are wood or light that are enhanced you'll have a greater chance of enhanced orbs that you want if you use a full board changer. Not much hurts more than using a full board change and none the orbs of your team's main color are enhanced (Haku, why did you only give me 3 dark orbs!?).

Jathra 2 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
Why are you complaining about extra OE on a Tsubaki team? You do realize that having extra light enhance on a Tsubaki team is a good thing and having green enhance helps reduce the chance of striking out on orb changes? Tsubaki has a large enough multiplier you can wipe trash floors with a 5x light attack easily so extra light enhance is actually not even out of theme.

As a more complete answer to your question however, every version of Leilan has a red/green/light enhance except A.Leilan and base Leilan (who has no awoken skills). Since this card is based on the standard versions of Leilan (shares her base skill) they just kept the same core enhances every other Leilan has and added more red.

Honestly she is better than A.Leilan for a Tsubaki team as far as damage is concerned even if the off color OE didnt help at all (which it does).

In short, you don't even have first world problems. Just be happy.

I just got her from the machine and she is pretty good because her enhance awakenings boost the damage of her team.

Can someone explain how does the second part of her LS works? Cause I've matched the 5o1e hundreds of time and never got the 2x to attack =(

You need to have at least one enhanced orb in the group of five. You'll know you've done it right because it'll make a breaking glass noise - it sounds like something shattering and you'll get a different clearing animation on those orbs.

BoyDynamo 1 year ago ( 11.1 )
The 2x attack is only for the same color cards as the 5 orbs that were eliminated, so it doesn't display the additional 2x when tallying combos, it just tags it on the total damage for those matching color cards at the end. The sound and animation will show you that you succeeded though.

"Unfortunately, there is no way to obtain it so far."....then why have I had her for ages now?! I wish they'd raise her stats though as I really like her and want to keep her as lead for a while.

The skill states that it needs to be only 3 of the following orb types: Fire, Wood, Light & Heart. But when using her as both your primary and secondary leader, it requires all four orbs to go off.
