You know what problem I have with this Mitsuhide's and this guy's LS?

The fact that they both have row awakenings, but to trigger their LS, you can only connect FIVE orbs. I'm guessing that in the dungeons with a 5x4 board, this would be useful, but otherwise, it's incredibly counter-productive.

Chinny in reply to Skyknight 3 years ago ( 8.0.1 )
the thing is, for decent row teams, each row is an additional 50-70% attack. For amazing row teams, each row adds over 100% attack.

Assuming this is a fire row team with 10 fire row awakenings, this is what can happen.

With the standard board, you can only fit a maximum of 3 rows of one element, meaning you can have additional 300% damage. That translates into a mono-element x4 ATK.
not being able to use one of those rows because one HAS to be a chain of 5, instantly means that you can only get additional 200% resulting in x3 bonus to ATK.

dual x2 ATK leads times x4: x16 ATK
dual x2 ATK leads times x3: x12 ATK

dual x2.5 ATK leads times x4: x25 ATK
dual x2.5 ATK leads times x3: x18.75 ATK

dual x3 ATK leads times x4: x36 ATK
dual x3 ATK leads times x3: x27 ATK

dual x3.5 ATK leads times x4: x49 ATK
dual x3.5 ATK leads times x3: 36.75 ATK <-- What Yukimura can put out at best.

If they made his LS a x3 for five connected orbs or MORE with at least one enhanced orb, GungHo could have achieved a similar effect without such a gimpy activation.

The effect is less noticeable with fewer row awakenings, but then that wouldn't be much of a row team anyways.

I don'e mean to hate on this guy in general. He is an incredible sub with two rows, high attack, great synergy, and relatively short orb-changing abilities. It's just that his LS causes a lot of wasted potential.

Skyknight 3 years ago ( 8.0.1 )
You just need one instance of five. For full power, you'll want a full row somewhere, and a cluster of five elsewhere.

Not going to be easy without orb-changers besides Sanada himself.

Sanada and Akechi are meant to be strong leads for the 5x4 dungeons. In those, 5 orbs=1 row therefore you get both the LS activation and row enhance at the same time. On top of that, these 5 orb skills are one of the easiest to use in those dungeons. There's a reason Yomidrag is the best lead for them.

This guy on a Shiva Dragon team as a sub would be nice. Would go along way towards not getting orb trolled.

It seems like his leader skill is either incorrect on this page, or on the NA game itself. I just rolled him on this godfest, and he gives 1.5 ATK to attacker types, not 1.5 HP. That puts his total multiplier to 5.25 for 5 matched orbs, a significant upgrade over what we previously thought.

http://imgur.com/n9MdEA7

Combine that with Shiva, Cao Cao, ROdin, and the new Set ult, and you might have a good time.

Wattacat 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
I also noticed the 1.5x ATK for attacker. 5.25x is pretty good. Just wish this guy has some +enhanced orb awakenings instead of line boosts. It would synergize better with his leader and active skills. Hopefully whenever his ult comes around he will have some. Other than those possible subs you mentioned, Awoken Leilan and Urd are great Fire Attackers to provide some enhanced orb% and orb change skills.

I just looked after reading this and it says HP now, it definitely did *say* ATK earlier but was working as intended, it was just a typo.

Wattacat in reply to DORAMATIC 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Hmm.. you're right. I can confirm it definitely said 1.5 ATK as well. Though I never actually tested him in a dungeon at the time. I was comparing his damage to Maeda Keiji before, but now he is quite different. I guess the 1.5x HP should come in handy, and he still makes a great sub for Gadius for making hearts, and Krishna for enhancing orbs. Almost any fire team really.

Honestly I'm just disappointed with the community on this page. Why such a low rating? This guy was seemingly made for Gadius. A relatively short cooldown to turn water to enhanced fire and light to heart. Giving Gadius exactly what he needs to attack and multiply. And with enhanced fire orbs and 2 rows to top it off. Then his stats. While his health is less than preferable, his attack is quite nice. And for such an obvious attacker, I'm surprised he even got recovery. And my biggest point, how could anyone rate his artwork so low?? Are you all blind? He looks incredible! By far one of my favorite artworks to date. I think everyone needs to take another look at this one.

The ratings here are not always dependable.
Same goes for ratings in Chinese-Language websites, which I often use as references.

I only trust my calculations when judging a character, and I suggest you trust your own analysis as well, and ignore these ridiculous ratings...

Gadius sub for sure, but I'd like him for my Krishna team. Enhancing fire orbs is perfect for Krishna in dungeons without awoken skills such as Kayuga-Hime. Without enhanced orb awakenings, you can't activate his LS bonus.

So is there a rating system for PAD monsters somewhere that's based on metrics and analytics rather than gut reaction?

This guy is nearly a better sub for fire row teams than Yamato Takeru and he hasn't even gotten an uevo yet. Yamato doesn't enhance fire orbs while this guy not only changes 2 orbs like Yamato, he enhances them. And does it at the same 8 turn CD. He also has more rows than Yamato.

Having both would nice, but if I had to choose 2 Yamatos or 2 Sanadas to use as subs, I'd go with the Sanadas. His uevo will make him even more OP.

Posible urd sub?

Grey Shirt 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Could be an Urd sub, perhaps not as useful as Ares. I don't think he would make my team, especially with Ares new split ult having a TPA and 3 rows. My awoken Shiva enhances orbs for me, and Rowdin brings 4 more rows. I suppose he could replace my second Urd, but probably not. However, if I was missing any of the parts I just mentioned, he would be welcome on the team.

Or yes, yes, yes. My red spike team is Urd leader, R/W Ares, Rowdin, Ult Set, A. shiva, Urd friend. I can use either rows or prongs and do massive damage. I easily clear Sonia Gran and have completed several rushes with full board enhanced by Shiva and lots of rows. It works for me at least.

Shiva already enhances fire orbs with his active, so having a third enhancer might be a bit of a waste. If you don't have any other good double orb changers you might as well though.

His active is OP. Compare to UY. Same max cd, but this also enhances the orbs after making them.
0
Skyknight 3 years ago ( 8.0.1 )
The trick is that half the conversion is to heal, whereas Yamasachi creates two different elements of attack orbs. Meaning that Sanada doesn't create QUITE as much attack power in the process (Yamasachi's wood orbs are probably going to sub-element attack, rather than primary element attack).

1. If you don't consider +eggs when you look at leaders like Shiva or Shiva Dragon, you're doing something wrong. I run about 7000-8000 rcv on my Shiva team. Shiva/Urd/Kagu/RValk/WildCard/Shiva.

2. I don't think that having 4 ares to put on a shiva dragon team should be a foregone conclusion and we shouldn't talk about other options.

3. I hate when people say the old 'need 5 rows to be of any worth' line. It's not true. This comparison is comparing 1 row to 2x3, which is a faulty comparison. When you have 24 fire orbs, you'll get a 4 combo with 2 rows. There is no option to get more combos by getting less rows. Rows are for the big burst, they're not for use when you have only 6 fire orbs on the board. 4 rows will get you +80% damage, which is a very big boost. More options helps for not getting screwed by the RNG.

4. Shiva benefits a lot from his RCV. With 6 combos and 3 hearts I can pretty easily heal 20k. throw on izanami as a wild card and you have a very strong and very flexible team. Overall it means things like, lower risk. He does a lot of damage. He doesn't always have orbs to work with, so delaying a bit when you can to get actives up is helpful. With his rcv, you can delay on pretty much anything that does less than 25k.

5. Urd alone for healing can work. Sanada alone for healing can work. You can use both together when you want to be sure to heal AND kill in the same turn, even against a really strong boss. Having two let's you get from one active to the other - you can use an active for healing and damage every 4-5 turns instead of just every 9, or you can heal while preserving the ability to make a strong kill board.

6. It depends what you have - this guy isn't so amazing that he is guaranteed a spot on any team. But it should be very obvious that this active + urd's active is a very strong combination regardless of anything else. His problem with shiva is that shiva already has 2 fire enhances. But, with shiva dragon's limited sub pool, this guy would be amazing. Running 4 ares is great and all, but if you come up against beelzebub you're dead. Urd/sanada/Aresx2 gives you a way to deal with that.

7. Yeah, This guy will be amazing when he gets his UVO, so will most of the others in this set.

8. Again, you need to reconsider how you value orb enhance. With a full board, you're getting 3x damage. With a split board with 2 rows and 4-5-6 combos you're getting somewhere between 1.5-2x damage. If you have orb enhances but you don't have any orbs enhanced on the board when you hit your change, you're actually getting much more than this, too.

There are plenty of actives that enhance orbs, and those should be seen as a bonus as opposed to an actual part of the active. For instance, actives like Athena's aren't very good. The only reason Athena's is rated so high is because of her synergy with cards like Avalon Drake and Genbu. His double orb changer is alright at best, the main problem being that light is pretty important for a lot of fire leads like Leilan and Gadius being a very small example. On top of this, three other S tier subs for fire teams already change blue as well, being Cao Cao, Mamiya (FOTNS Collab), and Hinokagutschi. The hearts are really only beneficial if you have a heartbreaker being RValk/Set, or very high RCV which is rare for a Red Team. His RCV is too low to make use of the hearts.

TLDR, his stats are too low, awakenings are mediocre, blue to red is too common, light is too important, and the enhance barely matters. For your comment being down voted, Urd uses TPAs and OEs, which this guy has none of. Hino and Cao Cao do his job better than him for that team.

Eric in reply to 珍珠奶茶☆Crumb 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Urd/Sanada can be used on plenty of different fire teams.

Shiva and Shiva dragon are the two strongest fire teams that can be run currently, both of which have very high rcv (rare? what?). There are probably 20 shiva and shiva dragon users for every single Leilan/Gadius/Tsubaki user.

And Teams usually benefit from a hybrid of rows and tpas. On my shiva team, it doesn't matter what kind of board I get, I can hit 10 mil pretty easily because I have rows, orbs, and tpas. Orb enhance serves to greatly average out the results of a board change because it provides a huge benefit when you have few off-color orbs, and a modest benefit when you have plenty of off-color orbs for a tpa board.

Having two actives which can both be used independently for both healing and for damage is tremendously versatile. You can combine them to kill almost anything while healing to full. That's the urd/sanada combo.
0
珍珠奶茶☆Crumb in reply to Eric 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
But the Urd/Sanada combo isn't any different from the Cao Cao/Urd Combo or the Mamiya/Urd Combo. Even the best basis Shiva end game team only has around 2400 RCV, and that's with the multiplier. Take a look at the best fire subs in the game - Cao Cao has 27, Hino has 91. All of Shiva's best subs have abyssmal RCV, with Urd being essentially the only savior. This guy doesn't even really have a spot on Shiva Dragon teams, as subs like Ares exist!

While teams do benefit from rows as well as TPAs, it usually goes the otherway around, with a row heavy team benefiting from some TPA. The problem with sticking a few rows on a TPA team is that Rows are only beneficial once you have 5 collective awakenings on your team. For Shiva Dragon this is fine, as that team is row heavy anyways, but on A. Shiva, most of the subs, and Shiva himself, don't have any. If you don't have 5 rows, then doing two combos is more damage than a row of 6.

On top of that, Shiva is in the same spot as Krishna where you just don't need healing in the first place, and if you do, Urd is plenty by herself. You just burst every floor with insane damage, the RCV doesn't even matter, and he'd still be top tier even without it.

The problem isn't that Sanada isn't strong, he is, and can be used on teams. The problem is, with only 4 sub slots available on teams, optimal teams just don't have a slot for him. If you want healing, you'd use Urd, with Rows you'd go to Ares and A. Leilan. With the constant power creep, he just won't be amazing til he gets an ult.

Eric 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
How'd this get a downvote, and how'd this guy get rated an 8 for his active? Urd + sanada = 2/3 fire, 1/3 heart board, with all of the fire enhanced. Enough to do 6-7mil on an urd team, while full healing your team.

You can also combine his active with Valk/Set to get a 4/6 fire board that is mostly enhanced, or you can hit valk before him to get a a 1/2 enhanced fire board with some hearts to heal.

It's basically a Hero active with an enhance thrown on, for the same cooldown, on a guy with great awakenings and stats as well.
