Just got Kanna and Tsubaki tonight! Now to figure out what team to build around them...

*edit*

Not sure why I was down voted... there aren't that many people running Tsubaki Teams and I was looking for feedback on what other people thought. However, a month later now I did figure out a good combination based on what I have in my box:

Tsubaki
Leilan F/L
Hino F/L
Femme Valk
Minerva
Tsubaki

Hopefully I will get a Shiva or CaoCao one day to swap them in.

**Edit**

Based on posts that I've seen on this page (and availability of my box) my new Tsubaki team:

Tsubaki
A. Horus
A. Hino
A. Leilan
Tsubaki
Tsubaki (FL)

Going to test run this team out and see how it goes...

I've rolled the REM on every Godfest that Shiva is featured and I've yet to pull him. :(

I decided to put her on a Gadius/Urd team.

Today I got my THIRD (#3) Tsubaki and (2) Cao Cao's (Woohoo!) during Godfest today and will be rebuilding my Fire teams, yet again.

Perfect board for Tsubaki and Sumire is 5x + 19x row + 6 orbs to isolate the 5 orbs, preferably in 2 sets of 3 to add an extra combo, using a team stacked with both rows and orb enhances.

Apocalypse -> Tsubaki -> Tsubaki -> Apollo -> Any light enhance -> Profit :D

This will activate her 36x with her perfect board nuke (minus one combo). The proper teams with Sumire's 20.25x combo and this type board on a light attack can hit for 4-8 mil light damage just from the 4 subs. Imagine it with a 36x base lol.
5
Jathra in reply to nguuu@PV 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Perfect board means max attainable damage.

Technically my above board isn't the max damage either but it will vastly out damage 2 non fully enhanced rows.

Absolute max damage should be this:

LRRRRR
LLLXXX
RRRRRR
LLLXXX
RRRRRR

With all red orbs fully enhanced. This only out damages the 18x enhanced row scenario due to having a 7x combo vs 4x, its also many many times harder to pull off.

I do get what you are saying though, in Tsubaki's case the enhancement probably isnt needed due to the 36x base multiplier and you can nuke with far less cards, but its not a perfect board.
2
nguuu@PV 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Played around with Tsubaki and while I do agree that stacked rows are necessary, your "perfect board" cost too much team slot.

My version of perfect board is more simple, Leilan > Tsubaki(s) or Yamato to get exactly 11, 12 or 13 light orbs, no need of ord-enhance AS
RRRRRR
RLLLLLL
LRRRRR
RLLLLLL
RRRRRR

RRRRRR
LLLLLLL
RRRRRR
RLLLLLL
LRRRRR

or

RRRRRR
LLLLLLL
RRRRRR
LLLLLLL
LRRRRR

With those setup and 7 rows, no plus egg included, I can hit for over 12 million damage without any additional combo. And that would be enough to one-shot most bosses.
1
nguuu@PV in reply to Jathra 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Ooohh I get what you mean then.

I did a test with this team
- Tsubaki
- Hera-Ur
- Ares
- Yamato
- Leilan
- friend hypermaxed Tsubaki
5 orb enhances, 7 rows

LRRRRR
LLLLLLL > 2 rows, 5 combos
RRRRRR > friend Tsubaki does 2 685 832 damage
LLLLLLL
RRRRRR

LRRRRR
RLRLLL > 1 row, 4 combos
RRLRRR > friend Tsubaki does 2 934 784 damage
RRRRRR > not too much different but still out damage the first board
RRRRRR

RRRRRR
HHHLLL > 2 rows, 7 combos
RRRRRR > friend Tsubaki does 3 357 332 damage
LLLHHR
RRRRRH

Maybe my team packs quite some rows so the difference is not that large. If I switch out Yamato and add in another Ares then there are only ~100k damage distance per monster.
On a side note, a hypermaxed team can dish out ~22 million fire damage with the third board and without any skydrop. So much wow....

Jathra in reply to nguuu@PV 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Lol yea she hits really really hard :) so it gives a large array of options on what is "good enough" which makes her flexible. I do like your idea of just the 2 monster nuke, it gives you enough room to nuke back to back for those dungeons that throw multiple bosses at you in a row. Just pulled Ars Nova today so I have a pretty dang nice Tsubaki team now (the light based version, have the cards for a fire main too), just need to find more people who run her.

Epsilon in reply to nguuu@PV 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
So with this in mind, then would Ilm not be an ideal sub for Tsubaki? Since Ilm changes the entire board to F/L, likely leaving you with something like your second board example. I suppose you could add in someone on your team that adds ~3 off-colour orbs, but that seems like a waste of a card slot and an active skill.
0
Jathra in reply to Epsilon 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Ilm is a good sub for her for sure. Awoken Leilan is the best sub I can think of for her off the top of my head though, perfect synergy, has rows, red enhance and a full board change and is red main unlike Ilm. Ilm would be great for a light based team however.

Oh btw, once the new JP buffs hit if you can get 10+ OE on team the 19x + 5x board out damages even the 7 combo dual row board (assuming full attack enhance). I figured out the math for it with Sumire, but same applies to Tsubaki.

You are completely correct!! When I started playing PAD, the first Godfest that I rolled I got Minerva and Hino and have patiently waited to be able to do Descends so that I can get the mats for their Awoken versions. I finally have 2 teams that can do Descends and I'm waiting for those dungeons to come on the radar again. :)

Though she may not have the tankiest team or the highest multiplier, I will admit, playing a Tsubaki team is the first "fun" team I've ever ran. Extremely powerful yet easier for me to run than LKali and without the whaling price of Yomidra

Other than that, does anyone think Tsubaki teams are susceptible to binds? Bind removal/other utility actives take away from the amount of actives u have available for haste cycling, making it quite difficult to handle situations where either leader is binded. Anyone else have this issue?

I run Newyears Mitsuki on my Tsubaki team as a bind clearer, but there is also Gadius who is getting double bind resist awakenings and makes hearts and has a bind clear awakening.

Either of these cards can be subbed onto a Tsubaki team to deal with bind (or normal Mitsuki works too but is not red/light and lacks a haste). As for skillbind its exceptionally easy to make a 100% SBR Tsubaki team so you can make yourself able to deal with both types fairly easily.

I haven't run into too many situations where the game both mass binds your team and also expects you to do a heavy nuke on the same turn. Usually if it throws a mass bind pre-empt at you it gives you a turn or two to clear it before it hits with any OHKO type damage so this solution works pretty well for most things.

If you are in a situation where you need to bind clear the pre-empt and nuke on the same turn then IMHO sacrificing one active to deal with that is worthwhile.

I can't decide who I want to use as a leader... Is Tsubaki better or Antares? Antares has more tankiness but Tsubaki has a higher multiplier... Which do you guys prefer?

Best multiplier out of the 3 but also the hardest.

Best farmable sub I can think of is Diagoldos.
0
Side_ 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
I care to disagree with that, 5 enhanced orbs of whatever color you have in your team is really easy to come across, especially if you have a rainbow sub-attribute. For example,
Tubaki
Strawberry dragon (3 enhanced orbs, there now you got 5)
Theurgia
Ars Nova
R/L leilan
Ilm (idk)
anyways, if you make a team that centers around enhanced orbs, you can get enhances quite easily, so you pretty much just match 3 orbs of what you want to attack with 5 orbs, including 1 enhance, and boom, 9x, simple sweep.
0
Dr. Psaroo in reply to Side_ 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
If you want the full x6 though most of the Light orb-changers are off color from this leader's Red attribute. The fact Diagoldos is Fire/Light but makes Light orbs is pretty nice when all of your other orb changers will make Fire orbs.
0
Eric in reply to Dr. Psaroo 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
If you really need him to generate light orbs yeah. Having 3 light orbs on the board is not exactly very difficult... also Leilan gets you all the light orbs you need to activate too.

Greg! in reply to Side_ 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
I don't think the "ATK x3 when matching exactly 5 connected orbs with at least 1 enhanced orb" part applies to any enhanced color. It says "Matched attribute" before that line, meaning, only enhanced Fire and Light orbs.

EDIT: Admin, this glitch happens a lot. This comment was meant for Side_, but it's on the wrong post!

you realize tsubaki herself has an active that generates the light orbs needed? The team is already running with 2 very short cooldown actives that give you light orbs and refresh other, better skills you might want to use. Don't waste a slot on diagoldos who is trash.

So, I play JP and my new team is gunna be;

Lead: Tsubaki
Cloud
Squall
Awoken Leilan
Awoken Leilan
Friend: Tsubaki

100% skill bind block, 100% fire orb enhance, 40% light orb enhance, consistent fire/light orb, all have skill boost skills and 4 fire rows, seems alright?

By Taupe1030 3 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
7.9? You guys are all crazy. SHE DESERVES BETTER.

Imagine a team with 6 tsubakis all maxed-skilled. Steady streams of orbs and 36x attack every single turn. What are you even whining about? Think of another 6-star exclusive team this OP.

Also, she might get an ult one day.
2
Jathra 3 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
She does not contain TPA's so her rating will not be high. TPA's are all people care about these days. 8.1 is really not a bad rating anyways especially for a card that doesn't have 4+ TPA's on it.

I agree though that a 6x Tsubaki team is not so great.

A 6x Sumire team works cuz she makes tons of hearts to tank with, has more base HP to take pre-empts with and good RCV from all the heart creation.

Tsubaki has no defense however only raw attack. On top of that if you are spamming orb change every turn most of those red/light orbs will not be enhanced which will cut down your team damage a ton, and as was mentioned there's no rows or TPA's to boost damage either.

That being said you can create extremely powerful teams with Tsubaki, but they do come with caveats.

People in this game generally try to stack one thing. Its OMG ALL THE TPAS or OMG ALL THE ROWS or OMG ALL THE ORB ENHANCE, Tsubaki and Sumire require a hybrid team which a lot of people seem to think sucks.

In reality you can get quite good damage out of multiple sources of damage boost, in some cases even more than from a single source.

That team isnt that good considering you have no bind resists, get wrecked by premptives, and have no rows or tpas, meaning that even with the 36x, you won't be doing that much damage

You guys are all making this really complicated.

Clear a Light Match and a Fire match and all cards attack 2x

Clear a 5 match with at least one orb enhanced and THAT attribute gets 3x

So if you clear a 3-orb light match and a 5 orb fire match the fire attribute will be 6x and the light damage with be 2x

Think of the 5 match as being a built in Norse active skill. The norse active gives a boost of 1.5x to a specific element the same way creating a 5 match gives a 3x boost to the element specific to the 5 match.

Vermillion in reply to Side_ 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
The wording sounds like the 3x will only applied to the matched 5 orbs though. From my understanding, let's say if you have 5 red, 5 light orbs. And you match:

1) 2 combo of 3 red + 3 light - 2x
2) 1 combo of 5 light(at least 1 enhanced) - 3x to only "matched" attribute which is light in this case
3) 2 combo of 5 red(at least 1 enhanced) + 3 light - 6x for "matched" attribute which is red with red+light condition met.

If this is actually the case, it seems to be a better idea to match 5 orbs with the sub color so you can do tpa/row on the main color.

alright tested it with Krishna just now, and 2025 went to 4557 with 3 combos, 1 including the 5 connection of lights, so it is 1.5x for the matched attribute
0
Shoukon in reply to Vermillion 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
I think the wordings for the x3 condition does not limit the colour of the 5 orbs, meaning that if you happen to have 5 water orbs, and a water+ orb among them, you can match those 5 water orbs, then focus purely on TPA or Row arrangements for fire or light orbs.

What do you think?

<EDIT>
If you match 5 water orbs like that, the power of water attack becomes x3 (x9 for double leader), but still x1 for fire or light attacks because we didn't do the same with these 2 colours...
Sorry for not paying enough attention to the wordings.

Side_ 3 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
it applies to all the colors that you can attack with
e.g. Awoken Krishna, light-Leilan, fire only guys
Krishna's connect 5 orbs can activate on both fire and light, but although Leilan can produce enhanced green orbs (with a 20% chance through her awakening), unless you have the green version as well, you DO NOT gain the 1.5x through Krishna
also, this requires EXACTLY 5 orbs, and does not count if you try to get it from a Row boost.
Basically it's a row enhance that can only go up to whatever multiplier it says -1 orb, great if you need 1 more orb for a row, or if the only two prong you have is Leilan, who has 1 two prong.
EDIT: and yes, 2x and 3x are to all attributes

Well, first off, it looks like Diagoldos isn't as much of a waste than we previously thought. So, nice one, GungHo.

Second, the art for all of these is amazing. I especially liked the kimonos and hair of them all, because they look smooth and elegant. It just seems as though Kaede compensates for her short hair by having an even more beautiful kimono.

I've tried using Elder Jotunn as a leader, but couldn't maintain a consistent supply of fire and light orbs. 4 max-skilled Tsubaki's would certainly solve the problem, with 6 skill boosts (1 per Tsubaki and 1 per Elder Jotunn) and 4 cooldown reducers. That is if I can get them, of course. One can dream, right?

By Jathra 2 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Getting around to working on my Tsubaki team now that my Sumire team is basically done.

Thinking of Tsubaki/Antares/A.Leilan/Tsubaki/Gadius/Tsubaki

Full haste team with 4/6 cards on 7 turn cd (when skillmaxed)
11 Red OE, 5 Heart OE (post JP buffs), 3 Light OE, 4 Red Rows
100% SBR, 2.5 sec sec time extend, 5 skillboost and a bit of bind clear via gadius.
2 full board changes and 4 orb changers including poision/jammer protection.

Only issue I see is not having enough skill boost to be up turn 1 which actually may be a huge issue as she lacks Sumire's tank ability. I may tinker with the team more later, I do have some other options.

Anyways, thoughts?

Edit, new team: Tsubaki, Tsubaki, A.Leilan, NY Leilan, NY Mitsuki, Tsubaki
13 red OE and 3 rows, 4 light OE, several heart OE, 5/6 cards with haste. Things just melt lol. Can pop 8-12 million damage nukes off back to back with 2 Leilans, hit for close to 24m one round as well on a 6x5 board with some extra combos, and that's without even full orb enhance. Tsubaki has become my new main card lol.

they edited her leader skill so that both types of matches give you 2.5 attack did she get nerfed? or is this a good thing

Flariza 2 years ago ( 8.6.2 )
Well, if you use a calculator, 6.25x multiplier is greater then a 6x multiplier, seems like a minimal impact but it can make quite a difference on many monsters. But if using 2 as leads the multiplier amounts to 39.0625x instead of the 36x multiplier it did before. In conclusion, tsubaki's leader skill was not truly tampered with as her leader skill is still as useful as it was before.

I personally love using Tsubaki. It's a lot of fun to play around with the orbs trying to make her leader skill.

I CAN'T WAIT for her ultimate to come out but I'm a little worried. She already has 7 awoken skills which means she only has room for two more. If all she gets is two more fire orb enhance... I don't know how I'll feel about that. But I don't know how I would react to her getting another leader skill either.

So conflicted. I hope Gungho treats her right.
0
grace 2 years ago ( 8.7.0 )
Well actually I wouldn't mind if they tacked on an HP multiplier or a RCV multiplier for her leader skill. Both are pretty weak in a Tsubaki team and would be greatly appreciated...
0
Jathra in reply to grace 2 years ago ( 8.7.0 )
Tsubaki teams can have respectable RCV. My team has 3000 rcv which is enough to basically heal back to full with a few sets of hearts and some extra combos. Yamato, Mitsuki, Gadius etc all bring great RCV to the table, even +297 Tsubaki has 595 rcv by herself. Given you are looking at more about 2300-2500 RCV without everything maxed, but even back when I just had Tsubaki at +297 I never felt starved for healing.

Her ult will probably get at least 1 more fire enhance and probably another heart/light enhance. More enhance is always welcome on an OE team so that would be great in my book. I am just hoping she doesn't get another SBR, anything else would be fine really.

It will probably be awhile before we see an ult for her, I certainly hope it is. If they rushed out an ult now it wouldn't be much of an improvement because she is still more than relevant.

Truth be told, her 36x is somewhat weak, but that's only relative to the amount of combos you need to activate that LS. Even with 2 combos she hits hard enough to one-shot floors with 2mil HP. Slap an Ilm/Shiva or Urd/Shiva/Valk or Kiriko/Valk AS on there, match two 5s and a few TPAs and you're looking at a grand total of about 770k per sub, 1.1mil for TPA subs like Urd and 1.4mil for 2TPA subs like shiva -- enough to handle most mythical descend bosses. She's slightly inferior to Yomi Dragon what with the difficulty of activation, but not by much.

Best multiplier out of the 3 but also the hardest.

Best farmable sub I can think of is Diagoldos.

Meh. Pulled her today, she's not even good enough to be a sub on my GY team. No place for her at all, another box space waster.

Decent leader skill but not OP. I'd probably use him as a sub though. I think Kali is probably more consistent in activation.

Her 36x isn't OP because her activation doesn't synergize with either TPAs or rows.

She doesn't rely on non-damaging orbs to activate unlike Dkali/Gadius/Typhon, doesn't need a system to be viable, unlike Zuoh/Ilm, and has a shorter CD than Zuoh/Ilm's actives. And she has haste to make that CD even shorter. You definitely lose attack power because you're limited to matching 5 of each orb and you can't tack on row or TPA damage, but since her playstyle is still pretty close to that of a row team, and she has a great AS with haste, she's easy to play, and she's more consistent than many other 36x leads out there. To top it off you can build a really sturdy Tsubaki team out of common farmables such as Gigas, Homura, Valkyrie, Hera-Ur Senpai, etc, which you really can't do with any of the other GFEs. That being said, if you have the right team for all the 36x leads, Tsubaki is probably one of the weaker leads, but if you're nonIAP or lazy, Tsubaki is an amazing 36x leader -- I'd put her with Lkali as one of the best nonIAP leads available.

Tsubaki is a 36x leader (if running a friend Tsubaki too). I think that's pretty OP for a card that doesn't even have an ultimate evolution yet.
