I'm avoiding this series because I feel like they will just take up box space.

The leader skill is rendered mostly useless by the fact that hits taken while above 70% that can kill you are generally part of consecutive hits that the skill won't prevent. If the consecutive hits are small enough, they'll knock you below the 70% first.

The element change is interesting in concept, but somewhat lackluster in execution. Being able to switch to wood for extra damage against a water element enemy on 1 floor, or to avoid the damage reduction when facing a wood element enemy, can be useful.

It does allow a mono-blue team to get at least some use out of wood orbs, but if you are using off-color orbs, you are generally just doing it to get rid of them, and don't care much for the damage.

Activating the 1.5x boost during a turn when you are trying to just get rid of off-color orbs is somewhat counter productive and activating it purely for the attack boost will generally take the Cat himself out of the damage calculation.

The 3 turn cool down is the only real saving grace this monster has. With the leaders that require an active skill activation for their leader skill more prevalent, a 1.5x attack boost every 3 turns can become a 4x or 5x. So running a whole team of these for example, guarantees 4x or 5x, but sacrifices better attack stats and damage boosting awakenings in order to do so.

The only other real benefit this series seems to have is low cost/rarity, which can make them relevant for niche dungeons and lower level S-Rank.

As a new series, I feel like these monsters could have been implemented better. Making the element switch last until the next skill activation, for example, would allow you to burn off wood orbs to some effect and then let the Cat join the other water monsters for the next 1.5x activation. Or allow you to adjust your team continuously to avoid elemental resists/absorbs. Their awakenings leave something to be desired as well. Even some blind resists (cats do have night vision) and resists relevant to their elements (If he can change his element to wood, perhaps he should be somewhat resistant to wood as well). Not everything needs a TPA or row-enhance, but a skill-up and enhanced orb just strike me as boring. Even a second skill up would be interesting, as he would be guaranteed to begin with his active skill charged at max skill.

That said, I'll farm the heck out of the Calico version. I happen to have both Claymore and Kopis, so at least one of them is going to be very useful as skill up fodder for me. So if you have monsters from the Warrior Series, there is that.

There's a thing with cats and dogs with me:
Dogs are man's best friend,
But cats are Royalty.

And Gungho are creating Cat-Dragons!!
That's like Divinity in itself to me.

Very cool dragon card. I'm not sure if I'd use itmuch given my fire based team lineup currently, but the combination of at boost & survive insta death attacks in a leader skill is promising . I imagine this would pair freaking awesomely with a fragrant bowl dragon helper and a team of water/rainbow or rainbow/water cards.

Wish these cats had a bit mroe usefulness than just a skill up for one monster 90% of us don't own.

yeah Ricochet I fed it a couple pengdras. Quite underwhelming. I got it my first time on master but now it won't drop again to let me level up the skill, annoying.

I wish the water claw and poison claw activated sooner, the rough part is getting past 40%/50% with that multi-hit <_<

It's funny to have four poisons on either side all turn to water, allowing you to safely futz around and heal back to full. Such a tough boss at the halfway point, it really fooled me into thinking this would be useful.

I can't resist keeping it though, it looks so much like my own cat! ...Aside from the incomprehensibly clashy wings, which are very obviously stapled on.

Seriously, who do you think you're fooling with those wings, cat? That other one looked way more natural! I couldn't get him to drop though. It really feels like sometimes the drop rate on Master is an outright fabrication.

I had around 8 of these when the dungeon was over, and I thought "I'll sell 7 of these since I'll never use them."
I then pulled the REM and immediately pulled the monster this is fodder for.

This thing is terrifyingly ugly. Ahahahahaha, style change, gungho didn't anticipate the weapon series being awfully useless.
