Since I did a background about Sun Quan, might as well do Cao Cao.

Here we go, a background about Cao Cao.

Cao Cao is known as the the hero of the Chaos. His ambition was to conquer the land during the Han Dynasty. His first battle was against the Yellow Turban Rebellion in 184 A.D. and succeeded in killing Zhang Jiao. Seven years from now at 191 A.D. Dong Zhuo wanted power and being greedy within the land. So his childhood friend Yuan Shao became the leader of the coalition army against Dong Zhuo at the Battle of Hu Lao Gate. The coalition army was victorious over Dong Zhuo's army. After the battle against Dong Zhuo, his next move is battling Jia Xu at Wan Castle and this time he was ambushed by Jia Xu. Cao Cao's bodyguard Dian Wei sacrificed himself to protect his lord and eventually died. Jia Xu would later join Wei after he was captured. Following the year after Dian Wei died, Cao Cao's rival battle is facing Lu Bu at the Battle of Xia Pi. He eventually succeeded in capturing Lu Bu, Zhang Liao and Chen Gong. Cao Cao let Zhang Liao live and joined the Wei army. Cao Cao command his army to execute Chen Gong and Lu Bu. After Lu Bu's death, he move on facing Yuan Shao at the Battle of Guan Du and made Guan Yu to join his army. After victory against Yuan Shao at Guan Du and Guan Yu killing Yan Liang and Wen Chou, Cao Cao decided to let Guan Yu leave the army and join with his brothers. Now the biggest battle would be the Battle of Chi Bi. As Cao Cao send his army against Wu and Shu, the coalition with Wu and Shu succeeded in Zhou Yu's plan, leading with Cao Cao and his army defeated and no choice but to retreat. After the Battle of Chi Bi, Cao Cao accept defeat and escaping the battle, but Wu and Shu's army didn't give up and pursuing Cao Cao. Cao Cao encountered Guan Yu, however he spared Cao Cao's life for the debt that he owed. Cao Cao escaped. After the loss of Chi Bi, Cao Cao send Zhang Liao to defend He Fei and eventually succeeding in defending the land and killing about 100,000 Wu soldiers, leading Sun Quan and his army to retreat. As time passed by and the Han Dynasty is divided into Three Kingdoms, Wei is becoming more larger than before. With the help of Wu by killing Guan Yu for Wu to take Jing Province and leading more conflicts with Shu. Cao Cao eventually died at 220 A.D. His son Cao Pi took over Wei as emperor and leading the future of Wei. There you have it, Cao Cao became the hero of the Chaos.

Wishing that more Wei warriors could join with Cao Cao other than himself. Keep moving forward Three Kingdom Series.

Actually Lubu is stronger than Cao Cao, he was brought down with the help with many others and not Cao Cao himself.

Actually, the Coalition's victory seems to be an artefact of folklore. The alliance never really got around to doing anything; it was mostly Cao Cao and Sun Jian acting on their own that crippled Dong Zhuo's power, although it was ultimately Wang Yun and Lu Bu killing him that really put a stop to his influence (even if it meant Li Jue and Guo Si were able to fill the vacuum for a time). It doesn't help that Hulao Gate didn't exist at the time of the Three Kingdoms crises.

Lubu is the strongest of the whole history of three kingdoms. No wonder it has such a high attack stat

玉折@HG in reply to sWagSteR69 4 years ago ( 8.1.1 )
Lu Bu was a tough idiot, fighting for glory and women, betraying sides over and over again, ignoring consequences thinking he could worm his way out of trouble using brute force. Liu Bei and Cao Cao were arguably the two biggest rivals in the 3k era (Sun Quan's kingdom was more a sideshow act), but they joined forces to take him down. Cao Cao was the king of strategy, Liu Bei was the king of alliances, and Lu Bu was the king of power -- and he found out pretty quick you can't solve every problem by punching it really hard. He was taken as a POW under Cao Cao's jurisdiction, who basically knew by this point that Lu Bu was going to betray him later, and was subsequently executed.

Moral: sub synergy + combo matching skill > stats and damage enhances

neverlucky in reply to sWagSteR69 4 years ago ( 8.4.1 )
Yeah, one of the most famous three kingdoms stories is when lu bu faced liu bei, guan yu, and zhang fei. The three faced lu bu 3 vs. 1, and still lu bu had the upper hand. He had to retreat though, because three on one is just unfair :(
-1
mccool37 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
It's funny, Cao Cao executed Lu Bu and yet GungHo seems to have made Lu Bu the better of the two (at least more people like him though that could be because of the synergy with Ronia).

I'll still use him as a lead every now and then but don't forget dragon typing makes him an awesome new GOEMON SUB.

At least this evo actually works as both a sub and leader while the other fall short in both.

Zork in reply to BioCryo 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
Yeah, I just reread what I wrote and it's pretty stupid. I've spent most of my pad career trying to build a functional red attacker row team without any success though, and I was bummed that there wasn't a version of Cao Cao's ultis that added anything to that team. Oh well, I guess I'll just throw my Cao Caos on a Verdandi team along with Vishnu and GZL...that would work, right?
0
BioCryo in reply to Zork 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
Umm.... green is like the definition of two prong attacker, Liu Bei has three and Vishnu is going to have three as well (ulti coming out sometime soon), so since I happen to have Cao and the other two, let me just match four green and four red and destroy everything...
In the meantime... why the heck would you want a blue subelement when you are going to be changing those orbs to red orbs...

Except why did they give him prongs instead of rows and make his sub color green instead of blue? Keep the prongs and make him blue sub-colored and he's a great Urd sub, swap the prongs for rows and leave him green and he's solid on Amenouzume/Rodin/all those other red row teams. Heck, he's even got dragon typing for the new Goemon, yet gets prongs?

By JD@PG 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
I think Cao Cao's R/G ulti evo is still decent as a leader in my opinion and a great sub for any attacker teams like Urd for example. So yeah, he can play as either a leader or a sub. With that 2 TPA and 1 row enhance, you can use both TPA and row enhance depending on how you use it. I was a little disappointed when they first release both Cao Cao's ulti evo. However, I'm still going to try it out when it release in a couple of months from now.

Verdandi + UUUbae/UUUbae/Cao Cao/GZL + Verdandi?

It's basically a 3K team with Verdandi backup dancers, at that point.

JD@PG in reply to milkyway 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
True, but still Cao Cao is reliable due to 2 TPA. Wish that he gets a 2nd skill bind resist rather than a skill boost because skill binds are about common for most descendeds.
0
JD@PG in reply to Zork 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
But the problem about putting him in a Verdandi is lack of RCV since Verdandi boosts HP when fire is included. The delay is useful, but almost outclassed by shield guards and he isn't wood main attribute. To be honest, he doesn't fit for a Verdandi team. I'm sorry.
-1
Zork in reply to milkyway 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
The biggest problem with both awakenings is that they make no kind of logical sense. As you've pointed out, he doesn't really fit on *any* team (except maybe a luxury verdandi attacker team?) and his sub pool as a leader is pretty mediocre and REM heavy.
-3
milkyway 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
Not that great for Urd team because he takes away water orbs which you could have used.

Not that great for a Verandi team because he is not balanced. He wont be usefull when you use x for balaced type skills.

Both of his ulto evos a pretty much crap. This one is not as bad a the other one though because at least he gets nice extra awakenings.

Great RGY sub, hopefully RGY comes back into the light with an ultimate.

Delay allows RGY to recover back above 50% Hp if need also works as an orb convert. He only has 1 row but in a situation where you can make a 2 prong attack as well he will spike extremely hard with his high base attack (similar to putting dino rider on the team)

By priest 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
When will we get this!?!?

By nathan@N17 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
I thought 3 rows should have definitely been the go to. Sun quan gets a spike active with 2 rows, liu bei gets 3 tpa AND a row, dq gets a x4 with 2 rows, lu bu gets his devil subs and the active and the awakenings....so why on earth does cao cao get just 1 row and 2 tpa. So stupid
1
El Rayo 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
I completely agree. He got shafted out of the 3K series. Still gonna run this as a sub on my R/D Cao Cao build, though :-p
1
Guest 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
I agree that he got shafted both here and in his LS ult but, I don't think he would have received 3 rows no matter what. Simple reason being, he would be heavily encroaching on Rodin's niche if he had. 2 TPA+2 Rows however, would've probably been acceptable and I'm disappointed it didn't happen. At the moment, Fire is pretty evenly split on rows vs TPA and having him fit into both camps would have been great.

As for why Gungho decided to hate on him, I just choose to believe their hard-on 3K novel fans. It would explain why Liu Bei got the best treatment of the rulers as well.

KINGKAI 4 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
for real. He was my favorite 3K and I was so hopeful that he'd get great uvos since his were the last of the 3Ks to be revealed, but gosh, what a letdown. His awakenings are the most lackluster of the 3Ks. I especially loved his majestic red cape, which they turned into a measly green piece of cloth that looks more like a scarf

I was expecting Fire/Water myself, despite his active, just to complete the cycle with the dragon versions of Liu Bei and Sun Quan (the Nornir matching up were just a coincidence to me). But it seems like GungHo decided his active DID deter a Fire/Water setup.

Cao Cao had been sitting in my box for nearly a year now, unloved and untouched. When Awoken Shiva gets here, Cao Cao will go from being the bleh roll of the 3K generals to being nearly as OP of a sub as Lei Bei is for Verdandi.

I am at a loss to understand why Gung-ho didn't decide to go with RB for this uvo. Liu Bei's uvo fits perfectly with Verdandi, Sun Quan's uvo fits perfectly fits Skuld, so why the hell didn't they make Cao Cao fit with Urd? Show Urd some love Gung-ho.
0
mccool37 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
Probably because he converts away from water which reduces the synergy quite a bit, not only with her but with himself. It could still work out but not as well.
0
Frodoflo 4 years ago ( 7.8.1 )
Not just that the active really works against that typing

The coloures also represent the alliances that different 3k cards had in the stories.
Light means independent party, red is Cao cao, blue Sun Quan, green Liu Bei and dark Lu Bu.

Besides that, Urd hast the strongest Ls out of the Norns. In order to buff the others they get subs for days ...

Wow, just pulled him, Sasuke and Hanzo in 3 consecutive REM tries, and my best friend is PAD Academy Athena, which is super strong with 3 TPA and an attacker that fits in this team. Also, because of this guy's wood subtype, he will recieve both Sasuke and Athena buff, and his atk will be amazing with the double TPA.

FINALLY pulled Cao Cao (and Hinokagutsuchi in the same God-Fes),
I was thrilled !!

I will try my best to 297 both of them as well.

I can then kick away my Red-Sonia and Fire-Light Leilan in my Awoken Shiva Team,
and the team will become:

Awoken Shiva (leader)
Awoken Hinokagutsuchi
Fire-Wood Cao-Cao
Urd
Valen
Awoken Shiva (friend)

Pretty much all the important functions are available, especially the first four:
~ 5 Sx = 100% Skill-Bind-Resistance
~ 30% Active Shield from Valen, essential for enduring Dark-Hera's 31584 preemptive strike
~ Full-board orb-changer (Urd) as a counter-measure against poison orbs (e.g. enemy Beelzebub)
~ Turn-Delay Skill from Cao-Cao is still effective against many foes (actually many of them are not status-immune)
~ Heart orbs from Urd as an emergency life-saving skill
~ High damage dealer (Hinokagutsuchi) against enemies with super-high DEF but low HP

My DREAM TEAM I had been yearning for, at last ~

Yamato, Set, Awoken Leilan, Awoken Horus, or even Theurgia for a farmable boost. Urd works best with either a Orb Enhancer or fire boost for floors where her 10.89x ATK is not quite enough to beat a boss even after using her active. Else, Yamato's fire and heal orb active can save you an Urd active on a sub-boss floor.

I like using Urd > Cao Cao > Set or Awoken Shiva. Turn a board into 2/3 Fire and Heal, plus enhancing the whole board or fire boost.
