then i was able to get a max skilled adkz and cu chulainn (here i decided i would have gone for gzl 70% of the time)

finally today i got the second gzl and bard robin (i was rolling for ronia). i was about to faint! gzl i love you!

The name actually derives from the lore of the Three Kingdoms, where Zhuge iang's nickname was the sleeping dragon. Also Zhuge Liang was considered one of the most intelligent, if not the most intelligent person.
Kinglink in reply to Paradragon 5 years ago ( 7.2.3 )
Everyone in the three kingdoms was a man, it's a retelling of the ensuing chaos that happened after the han dynasty, the rise of wei, wu, and shu, and then how they eventually changed to Jin. There's not mythical creatures, or actual dragons. That's just how their names were styled.

It only activates if you match exactly four orbs. Five or more and it doesn't activate.
cc in reply to Silveus 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
It's multiplicative, so you get 1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25x (for that match only)
CatsemanSA in reply to Dude 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )
No, you get more damage from more sets of four. A monster with double two-prongs gets insane damage for making aas many four matches as they can. I've seen friend ultAthena's do millions of damage by themselves. I'm not sure of the math but I know it's effectiveness. This dude is perfect for an Athena team, double two prongs are a rare but deadly trait. Its even more fun if you have a team with orb enhance and double two prongs together. Making four or so four matches and a row.makes obscene damage forwhat once was "only" a 9x spike team.
legion 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
Is the pronged attack affected by leader and active skills? I am asking because I have a marine rider and this one and a liu bei who could be leading those. And a high level masasume fom my old Dragon team. Just imagine the damage output for making 2x4 green matches and blue dark subattacks get pronged bonus too? I think I know what to do with my next batch of tamandras.

Edit: the more I think about it. Could be a great solution for all those level 4/5/9 double chimera double deamon traps in many descended dungeons !

match 4, get 1.5 x attack for that monster, and it hits 2 enemies. not exactly sure how it stacks when the monster has multiple pronged attack awakenings.
Blastoad in reply to cc 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
what if the team has 6 pronged attacks, is that 1.5^6?
dusz3k@PF in reply to Blastoad 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
It counts for 1 monster, but if 1 monster had 6 pronged then it'd be 1.5^6 his attack, but not his team.
Dude 6 years ago ( 6.5.5 )
question the two pronged attack can only activate once right? and by which I mean if you were to match 2 sets of four orbs, it would still only do 1.5x 1.5 extra damage correct?
-Striku- in reply to cc 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
Will it cancel if I activate row enhancement?
atog in reply to blumeanie 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
Why did this get negative vote? As strange as it sounds, this is accurate. 4xorb match = 2-prong attack x1.5, 5xorb = normal attack whole team no multiplier.
-Striku- 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )

I'd just like to state that since two prongs attacks stack multiplicativlely, you can get over 120k damage with 4 wood orbs on two monsters with the 16x from the leader skill.

That's 4 wood orbs.

How do you make consistent use of his leader skill?
GodHand 6 years ago ( 7.1.2 )
Good question. It takes a bit of getting used to. First off keep in mind that the HP indicator (the actual number, not the life bar) is color oriented. For example if you had 16250 HP, the actual number 16250 is different depending on the total % of HP you have left. If you are at 100% of your health the number 16250 will be green in color. Once you drop below 100% it will change to blue. One you get under 80% it will again change to yellow. This color coordination is extremely important to a GZL team. Since you can not do damage unless your under 80%. So to activate GZL's leader skill - be sure that the numeric type of your HP (16250 mentioned above) MUST be *yellow* in color.

Getting under 80% is no problem. Staying under 80% however is very difficult. Even if you eliminate all heart orbs in early floors of a dungeon, more will appear as you match, furthermore you always run the risk of skydropping 3+ heart orbs inline which can easily heal you to full due to GZL teams low total HP. There is nothing you can do about 3+ heart orbs dropping in line. You must compensate for this by keeping your health as low as possible so that when you do skydrop 3+ matched heart orbs it will not heal you past 80%.

GZL does not sweep floors - he sandblasts them. With health under 80%, and just 1 4-match green you can sweep just about any mob floor in the game. Match 2 4-linked greens and you can sweep almost any boss. So heart orbs are not really needed - get rid of them by matching as many as you can while your above 80% hp. once you have a board with few to no heart orbs, get your hp below 80%. The lower the better (dont die!). Dont be afraid of having your hp low. As mentioned above you can easily sweep most non-boss floors with very few orbs.

GZL is quick because of this. You will find yourself at boss floors almost instantly and this is were the true challenge surfaces. The challenge is not clearing the boss floor, but rather assuring you are under 80% HP once you finally do arrive. Also, along with assuring your hp is under 80% on a boss floor, you must have a stock of heart orbs when you reach the boss floor; not to heal with, but rather to heartbreak to green.

Like I mentioned earlier, it takes getting used to. As you progress you will eventually become proficient enough to handle pre-bosses which will require back to back orb changing in the final floors of difficult dungeons.

Hope this helps!

1: To successfully lower your HP without skydropping heals or green orbs just move a single orb back and forth assuring no matches, giving the enemy the chance to hit you without a skydrop healing you right back up, or worse yet; chain reacting a large combo clearing your green dark and other atk orbs.

2: Combos are not your friend! Do not treat this team as one would a Horus or Ra team - more matches increase your chances of skydropping heals and greens which can get you killed . Match only what you need, and keep your orb movement as short as possible.

3: Most upper tier bosses do more damage with one hit than the total HP of almost any card combination on a GZL team. If your not ready with what you need to kill them before they kill you, game over. This also means that if you arrive at an upper tier boss with full health, you cannot sustain even a single hit, locking you at 100% hp. (this is why Kushinada is such a desirable card for this team)

4. 100% hp = 0 damage. Even if you had 6 4-linked green matches (which is impossible), all green orbs enhanced as well as active skill multipliers in effect you will still do no damage whatsoever to most descend and upper tier bosses.
By Bryggyth 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
Just curious; if you match 2 sets of 4 wood orbs would that be 1.5*1.5*1.5*1.5?
(So would it be multiplicative or additive?)
Phoenix 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
The TPA multiplier is applied to that specific set of orbs, and after all the matches are made and summed, then the leader and combo bonuses get added.
By Guest 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
Does the "Effects carry forward on sweep" apply to the attack boost? I ask because the icon for the attack boost disappears after one round, but the icon for the defense down re-appears when the new round begins.

It'll put out a lot of damage if you have enough orbs, but without low cd green orb changers you'll get trolled more often than not. I'd take out Griffin for Sasuke or Cu Chu if you have them, if not farm a green mystic dragon knight in dragon guardian coin dungeon.

Over the last few godfests, I've been rolling. Non-IAP, so it's a bit rough.... I finally, today, finished my green team.

GZL <--- JUST rolled my third one
Dragon Lui Bei max skilled
Dragon Lui Bei max skilled

Holy crap. Epic.

I can't wait to test it out.

60% Skill Lock Resistance.
10 Skill-ups.
14 TPA.
2 Green Rows. Not very useful, but ah well.
2 Enhanced Wood Orbs.
40% Jammer Resistance.

The only thing that could be better, is one more Lui Bei, and I'd swap a GZL for it. But still, this is an astounding team.
Vayle 5 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
Ehhh...You have ludicrously high damage potential IF you can maintain greens. Liu Bei is too slow to orb change and he might ruin your Leader Skill. You'd have been better off with two GZL max (you should never need more than that, honestly.), maybe the two Liu Bei still, and then anybody else who is faster to make greens. If you were exceptional at it, a board of Wood and Light amplified by Athena and pounding down the TPA is enough to wreck just about anything.
By (づo.o)づHi 5 years ago ( 8.0.4 )
Rip, future players. This mighty soul of green attacker is now officially exiled from the GodFest Exclusives. If he does not find a home with his lord Liu Bei in the three-kingdoms series, he will fall in a situation where not a single GodFest would feature him, not Normals, not Exclusives. The likelihood of pulling this beast, then, might as well be just roughly the same as that of pulling an 6* Elize or a 5* Sasuke during a Forest Gala.
P.s., As of the old times, you may pull three of these in thirty rolls or so but not a single D.Kali... Just like how L.Metas would pop out... and Ronias...

Edit: Players Choice GodFest may still endorse GZL.

By Jayhawker 5 years ago ( 8.0.4 )
This monster got so much better with Awoken Meimei. I've had GZL for quite some time now, but have not had great subs to make it a viable team. I have 2 Meimei's that will get the very costly evo material to awaken her, just need the Zhao Yun Descend, and one green orb.
My team will more than likely be: GZL, Awoken Meimei (x2), Zhang Fei, Athena, GZL friend.
Team baste stats: HP-18,783 RCV-1040 Atk (above 80%) 11,177 Atk (below 80%) 178,832! Absolutely devastating damage output with 11 TPAs! 10 skill boosts, and 4 green orb enhances. Take into account the full board wood/light/dark orb change and it works extremely well when paired with AS of Zhang Fei, to remove dark orbs, enhance all wood and yellow with athena and throw in half defense and x2 atk for attackers, and it is game over for any boss hands down. Note - may want to keep dark orbs for ease of forming the groups of 4 for the TPA's, so you can sub Zhang Fei.

Question for the populous: I am currently running this team --

Genius Sleeping Dragon Zhuge Liang lead x2 (Sub friend lead is also a Zhuge liang)
Parvati evo'ed to Green/RED, a Highlander evo'ed to Green/RED, Dino Rider Wild Drake (RED/Green), and a Hera-Beorc (She is just a temp until I can pull a Kushinada, Sasuke or Green Sonia)

There is a youtube vid of a player in the rank 500's which uses a team similar to this except instead of parvati and hera he has a Green Sonia/Kushinada (obviously the best case scenario but we can't all be winners on the REM. :( )

The youtube video is of the team 0 stoning Ledgendary Seaway and is quite impressive. But when I attempt to replica the damage I am having a frustrating problem.

Example: Starlight Sanctuary King Of Gods farming - (My team is near all maxed, but not quite yet so I do understand I have a bit of damage increase coming once they are all maxed.) My problem is the skill selections of the team on Sub-Boss and Boss battles. I'm not sure I'm choosing the correct order and if anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated. It seems that Parvati + Highlander + 1 of the Liang Leads should be the higher damage yielding selection, which I have been using on the main boss. The Dino-Rider drake/2nd liang lead I use as my Sub-Boss skill set (Hera-beorc is worthless on this team - can't wait to get rid of her)

Here's my problem, when I use the dino rider, I am taking a gamble because he turns the green orbs to red and the heart orbs to green. So if I get the wrong combination of orbs, he will totally mess up the board by nuking my green orbs. So I began thinking maybe I should use him on the King Of Gods Dark Dragon Preboss instead of on Zeus. Every time I do its very easy, but I keep getting a crap board on zues. Once I use parvati/highlander I have a screen full of green orbs (Not good with Zhuge Liang) and can't get any 2-pronged attacks, not to mention most of the red orbs are gone after I use Dino riders skill

What am I doing wrong? Any advice? Thanks.

Update: GZL is not a KOG farmable team. Since I first posted this I have become very proficient with the mechanics of the team. Even with the ideal card combination it is not practical to use this team to farm kog. I have since built a R-Hera/R-Sonia team to farm kog with.

EDIT 2, Post Zhang Fei release:

After many card combination trials I have found a consistent KOG farming team for GZL. It works so well that I use this team as my main GZL team.

---Lead Cards---
GZL - Leader
GZL - Friend Leader
---Sub Cards---
GZL - (3 GZL's is beastly, I praise the rem for blessing me with 2)
MeiMei (Green/Light)
Zhang Fei (Delay + orb changer + atker type? Shwing!)
Wolf Hero (Green/Red)

I've cleared countless descends along with smashing Endless Corridors using this team. For detailed description of KOG farming with this team I have posted the build on KOGs Team Build Suggestions. Navigate to Dungeons>Starlight Sanctuary>King of the Gods to view.

I sometimes use a GrimCrystal (Card 1125) in place of the wolf hero in dungeons were I must tank a 30,000 damage received hit.

Happy GZLing everone! = )

Zhang Fei is an ok sub for GZL. He takes away his sub color, which with GZL's TPAs and Leader Skill is enough to clear most any mob

Originally my view was exactly as your is. The dark att. GZL sub saved me more than a few times. Yet I was still very curious to give old General Zhang Fei a try. I like maxing cards anyways since it gives me a bank I can hodgepodge teams with so I maxed him and TAMA'ed his awokens. Very quickly it became apparent of the remarkable benefit of breaking the dark orbs. After becoming proficient with the team I was able to see more clearly that the dark orb TPA's distracted my matching and complicated things. On top of that, transferring dark TPA's to green TPA's easily doubled my output damage. Even if you have compliment green/dark cards on the team it is very seldom that you find one with 2 TPA awokens like GZL's. The extra damage gained by the other green att. cards other than GZL by converting darks to green was remarkable.

Quote -
The delay is nice, but personally I don't find it really necessary and would rather have a 5 turn orb changer as not having green orbs is one of the only reasons I can think of to stall with that team.

Once again my original thoughts matched yours. But the General did not disappoint. On floors which had monstrously high HP red element monsters my prior teams damage would be terribly compromised. I've noticed high HP red monsters will put GZL teams in the red if not taken out before they strike. Executing 3-4 TPA's whith a GZL skill activated and subsequently thwacked into the grave made me contemplated throwing my phone many times. Aided by the generals single delay I am now able to make short work of red hp behemoths before they can make short work of me.

Cu Chu is always there, and meimei alternates with gsonia. I always take my marine rider with me though to have extra heart breaking. Dino rider can be used for this, too.

My first GZL team had 2 Cu Chu's and a Dino rider. It was very consistent yet limiting at the same time. Sure I could easily get rid of pinks on consecutive floors but I could never stop the GungTroll banshee from dropping 4, 5 or even 6 connected skyfall pinks wich, with Chu's near 400RCV would equal a death sentence. Since replacing balanced/physical/healer subs with attackers not only do I capitalize on the GZL active; attackers have 0-3 RCV. I can add a 4 linked pink match to my attacks and even with a 7 combo attack I still am in no threat of reaching 80% even if starting from 40%ish. That alone has been a very nice asset to playing GZL. The Dino Rider was a wonderful gateway sub but I have since retired him to my RedGuanYu team which free's up more time to concentrate on the true GZL moneymaker-green att. Attacks. As for your Marine Rider yes, its true that my eyes are blazing with jealousy. Marine Rider is the final piece of my team which I pray to the rem gods for every night (speaks in tongues *chanting* O rem gods bring Robin to me!) Once I replace Chu with him I will be able to link pinks left and right without a care in the world.

I also have extra GZL and am working on getting a second up in level, but I find that firepower is no weakness for the team, so he is just a little redundant with no extra utility

Do it! I promise you will not regret it. Not only do I use all 3 GZL skills in every dungeon, many cases I use one, if not two of them twice. If trapped on a floor with full health looking down the barrel of a large group of high attack monsters I simply pop a GZL, generate greens and lay down 2-4 TPA green combo's for some no multiplier flat sweeps of danger situations. Remember GZL is a badboy, rocking 2100 atk. When he grunts - people move aside. Having 3 GZL's is also a great way to setup entry into a difficult floor. Pop a GZL on the floor prior the one your concerned about and the sweep will carry over the defense breaker for a free critical shot before your primary GZL skill powershot.

I like the cut of your jib, Pheonix. it takes a true exhibitionist to bring out the secret power of this Sleeping Genius. Many would rather Ronia/Ronia/Ronia up than move a few orbs a few places and smile at destruction they unleash.

Ok I know I got quite a lengthy post going but just one last thought concerning your post: Yes I did mean starlight sanctuary King of The Gods although I was not referring to just being able to easily farm it. I'm currently at rank 280; my entire stamina bar used on KingofGods farming leaves me at 20k'ish EXP from rank up. That is only if I complete KingofGods 9 times in a row without dying. Even a single death will add 14k to my total required exp to next rank. GZL can do KOG easily yet fluctuations in situation and Gungtrolling can cascade into deaths that prevent continuous rank grinding. Even though I have great success with my GZL team in KOG, I only do it for fun. My Lubu/Ronia team is a 100% failsafe for clearing KOG so I only use my devil team to grind ranks.

Good luck bud! GZL commanders unite! *Trumpets blaring in background*

Zhang Fei is an ok sub for GZL. He takes away his sub color, which with GZL's TPAs and Leader Skill is enough to clear most any mob. The delay is nice, but personally I don't find it really necessary and would rather have a 5 turn orb changer as not having green orbs is one of the only reasons I can think of to stall with that team. He does have TPA and is attacker so there is no questioning that he is a viable member, there are just a lot of better options. Using KOG confuses me a bit as I always think of Keeper of Gold, but I believe you are talking about starlight sanctuary. Personally, I have no issue running SS with pretty much any sensible GZL team, no special provisions needed. To be fair, every member of my team is max level. As far as your team composition, it is very similar to mine. Cu Chu is always there, and meimei alternates with gsonia. I always take my marine rider with me though to have extra heart breaking. Dino rider can be used for this, too. With GZL you are frequently one heart match away from dealing no damage. Having three "get rid of heart orb" skills is my minimum(full board refresh also gets rid of hearts). I also have extra GZL and am working on getting a second up in level, but I find that firepower is no weakness for the team, so he is just a little redundant with no extra utility (are you ever going to use three active skill damage boosters?) but I figured that there would be a circumstance I would need him. Just my thoughts on it.

Each awakening boosts attack by x1.5 as well, which basically doubles his attack with 4 orbs...

What is the point of two double prongs? Does he attack four times on a single creature with 4+ orbs?

You forgot to mention that 2x attack for matching 4 orbs gets delt on 2 monsters, not 1, as he asked.

What do you guys think of this team?

zhuge liang

zhuge liang?

7 skill boosts, delay with a leader trigger and nuke, x2 attacker, two types of orb change, and orb enhance.
Colours ツ in reply to 白の雪の夢 6 years ago ( 6.5.5 )
considering her 20 turns skill cooldown and also she is lacking in 2pa, i wouldnt recommend so.
悪夢 in reply to GodHand 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )
Dunno if you're joking or not, Tenshinhan is practically made as a sub for Green Zhuge Liang. If you think tenshinhan is in the team for his nuke then you're going about it the wrong way. What tenshinhan gives to the team is his ability to proc the attack multiplier of GZL and a 2 turn delay which can be used to set up your board. There is nothing more frustrating than going into a boss floor with full hp and end up being 1hkoed. plus he has 2 prong which makes him ideal for a team that utilizes 2 prong attacks. Of course if you're playing the US version then too bad.
GodHand 6 years ago ( 6.5.5 )
tien dbz? there is no tien dbz. You mean Tenshinhan? his nuke is weak on a liang team as it takes away from another spot for an orb changer. Misjudging just 1 spot in a Zhuge Liang team can be very damaging to the functionality of the leader. It is mandatory that each card in a Liang team contributes to the teams dual pronged atk awoken's. The best candidates for cards in a Zhuge Liang team are those which generate two different colors with green being one of them. Without that, you will just have a page of green and no way to separate the groupings of 4. (Max damage is 4 orbs in 4 spots on the board) Having a card which only nukes will cost you stones in dungeons. Good luck bud.

Although, if you replaced Tenshin with either Kushinada or Green Sonyia you would be rocking a serious GZL team.

GodHand in reply to 悪夢 6 years ago ( 7.1.2 )
I can understand what your saying. It could make a good sub if you didn't have the ideal subs (all rem gods, boo). Yet, reducing HP to 1 although convenient; is no better than using Hercales which is a similar active card. (Actually I would rather have Herc's damage booster than a delay since GZL teams dont need many orbs to clear large damage) But Herc also lacks the ability to change orbs.

Bah, this complexity is what really irritates me about my GZL team. Allow me to explain.

GZL teams very seldom have problems with dungeons which only have 1-2 bosses. In those cases it really doesn't matter what your subs are so long as they are green. The true adversity to this team comes when you attempt descends or dungeons which have 3-5 bosses for instance Endless Corridors or ones similar. Reducing your HP is not only very risky it can get you in serious trouble with skydrops. (or lack there of)

So back to my original post advising more orb changers. Say your battling a 4 boss dungeon. The problem is not getting your hp low, the problem is keeping it low. The more orb changers you have the more floors you can heartbreak thus continuing to the next floor. Orb changers also change orbs to green which saves you needless effort in setting up your board.

I would like to address just a few more things you mentioned. The first is the damage modifier. Yes, GZL does deal a large amount of damage, although it is not as much as you think. His damage is flat, fast and very easy to activate but it does not have the power to haul off and one shot say for instance, Zeus. Don't let the team suggestions fool you - they don't work. To be able to drop Zeus or Satan in 1 you MUST have the Rem God subs (Sasuke, Kushinada, Gsonia, MeiMei or Artemis.)

Long story short: Check out the YouTube vids of the GZL teams clearing Zeus and Satan. All of them use very (VERY!) similar teams.

Anyhow good luck bud!

Its been a while since i last saw something that I thought of as "MUST HAVE!!" but this is it, I will have to keep an eye out for this guy getting released as i already have all the REM monsters to go with it. I guess its time to start leveling them in anticipation =)
By guacamole1 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
Was aiming for ceres, but got this guy from the godfest instead, now what to do with him? >.>
Emera 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
Likewise! Or rather, I got the unevolved version but was really wanting Ceres for her unbindable dark evo subtype for my Luci team. But after reading about Zhuge's 2 pronged attack when evolved and putting him in my Cao Cao team for the weekend dungeon, his active skill is super useful for attacker teams (which are SO fast at clearing weekend dungeons, which has 10 floors so Zhuge's active is normally charged before the last floor), and that's unevolved. Can't wait to increase my team cost so I can evolve him, and I hope you can find use for him as I did :)
By Emera 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
I really liked his unevolved art better :( but those two pronged awakenings (total x2.25 from matching 4 orbs) make up for it :0
By Doculon@PF 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
just got him from REM. Anyone know if he's any good in Dtron team? since he's an attacker and his active boost attacker type x2...but he's greem. and no row enhance awaken
By nathan@N17 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
All his attack is great until a bind hits. Unfortunately I believe being unbindable as a leader is better than two skill boosts. He has a pretty decently low cooldown so it's not like skill boosts are dreadfully needed, good to have, just not impossible without. And I feel like the two prong would be utilized greatly by killing things while binds wear off instead of wasting a spot for a healer to maximize damage. Nothing against him though, still a killer no matter what
GodHand in reply to nathan@N17 6 years ago ( 7.1.2 )
Gaia would absolutely work except for 2 flaws. 1. low Hp/Atk and 2. Freaking max cost of her descend is ridiculous! I would rather wait till I pull one of the Rem GZL subs than build an entire low cost team just to get a sub-par place holder.
GodHand 6 years ago ( 6.5.5 )
skill boosters are needed on liang teams. They give you a working defense to the dangerously low hp which liang teams usually have. (depending on what cards are on the team, liang teams usually have from 15000-18000hp. Not ideal)

If you are fortunate enough to have kushinada then the skill boosts are even more valuable as with the right combination of cards you can enter into a dungeon with kushinada's damage mitigation skill ready on the first floor. That will allow you to zero stone some of the early floor one shot-ing dungeons which liang teams cannot clear. (If floors 1 or 2 include a mob that can kill you with one hit then the dungeon is impassable. Liangs team does not get any leadership modifiers until your hp is under 80%. Relying on only your two prong attacks to try to get past these type floors will cost you in the 10-15 stone range. In other words, not feasible.
nathan@N17 in reply to GodHand 6 years ago ( 7.1.2 )
I would say go for a Gaia. She is so unbelievably good for my GZL team either as a sub or leader. She gets a damage reduction and can heal making it safer to take some hits you have no choice but to eat. Also not everything has to have tpa, from what I understood when it first came out was that it can't be used unless there are two enemies....unless they changed it. No matter what GZL will do PLENTY enough damage just by himself

By Tony 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )
You know I find it that this guy is top tier for a lot of people and any team, but I don't get why GunHo doesn't make more strong characters that give out attack boosts to different types. There's this guy for attackers, Lu Bu for Devils, Sandalphon or Sun Quan for healers, and Zaerog for dragons. There aren't any high stat characters to give a boost to balance and physical types. Kitty isn't much and HK exclusive. GC Crab Ver.3 would be nice to physicals if his stats were a little higher and given a buff to his active to 2x attack, then I think this would be all the rage for physicals.

Kerry 6 years ago ( 7.1.2 )
I guess you could use parvati and Mari&eva. Try to get like cu chu, sasuke, marine rider, or kushi. Also, why use king flamie and batman if they're not even wood?
GodHand 6 years ago ( 7.2.3 )
The shorthand to assembling a GZL team is get green att. cards with TPA (Two pronged attack) awokens. Even a single card lacking a TPA awoken will hinder your gameplay.
By Phoenix 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )
So I just pulled a third GZL. The first one: I almost crapped my pants in excitement. The second: I was still really excited to have another double two-pronged grass attacker sub for the team and a third turn of x2 could be useful. The third, I don't even know if it could be useful. You can't just fill a team with him because you HAVE to have some orb changers, right? Should I keep the third or use as a tamadra/potential skill up?
Phoenix in reply to PoyBoy 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )
See, I really wanted Marine Rider. I never thought I would have rather pulled a rider than a special god, but hey. I do have Dino rider and saw a few videos with him being used very successfully, so I'll start leveling him up. Freyja doesn't have TPA so I wouldn't suggest her. I already have a G/D ceres, but her active is only helpful for the team in not dying from preemptives and removing binds in a bind (tehehe). Otherwise she will just make your leader skill invalid. Same with Guan Yu, you would have to be super careful with healing skills. Thumbelina is good for this team, but I would suggest using Cu Chu with her to use up the hearts for super burst, just make sure not to have too many woods so that you can't get only sets of 4. Remember 16 is the optimum number of orbs. Also the fire Cu Chu evo is the one with TPA so make sure to go for that one. Both marine riders would find good use on the team. So with that I would suggest GZL lead, Marine, Marine, GZL, Thumbelina, GZL. Sasuke is a must have for this team if you can get him. GSonia is nice for a final boss burst even though she isn't attacker. Same with Genbu, but only her light evo for TPA. Some damage mitigation is really nice and often necessary on these teams as taking hits is required. I have a max skilled susano I plan on ultevoing to his new attacker as soon as I can get the orbs, but Kushi is much better, I just don't have her. So those are nice for a wish list. Farmable: I would say Athena is a really good sub. I've put a lot of thought into it as I think this is going to be my end game team, hope it helps!

I think you guys are troubling yourselves needlessly with these teams. GZL will do very well with any of the combinations you all have mentioned. The problem is not getting the team to perform well, the problem is having the team clear the upper tier descends and dungeons. The only way that can happen with GZL is with what I call the standardized GZL team : GZL as lead alone with GZL as friend lead. Subs MUST include - Sasuke, Kushinada, and an UEVO'ed Highlander. The final spot can be either MeiMei, Artemis, Marine Rider or GSonia. Of course GSonia would be the ideal candidate.

Without that combination you will find it extremely difficult to consistently clear upper tear Descends or Dungeons.

You can try the new descended, Zhang Fei who has a TPA awakening. He'll probably make a better sub than Liu Bei
Phoenix 6 years ago ( 7.2.1 )
I agree that I would swap out Liu Bei, everyone else seems perfect. Some DR would be really good. You can get that from Gaia farmably or if you want REM Kushi is the best, followed by Susano. Grimcrystal seems like a new potential sub for this purpose. I noticed your Genbu is W/D, so I would suggest going W/L for the TPA. Zeal is always viable, he just isn't attacker. Thumbelina is good if you have cu chu, which you do, she is just hard as crap to skill. I switch canopus in sometimes for his HP.
By Alan 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
Would Uevo Marine Rider get 18.25x or 32x TPA in a GZL team? I know double GZL gets 36x, just wasn't sure how it's applied on top of leader skills.

My player's choice godfest: Kushinada, Minerva, and this guy. I want to build a team around him but am not exactly sure how to go about it. I have a Freyja, Avalon Drake, Marine rider, Kushinada(already said that), Susano, Thumbelina, and Ancient dragon knight Zeal. What should i do in terms of team comp? I don't think I can clear either the dungeon that gives me Athena or the dungeon that gives me Cu Chulainn
Phoenix 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
For your team: Kushi, Marine Rider, Avalon, and for the last Cu Chu would be really nice, so try and go for two heroes, but another full board change or heart to green would be your most needed. Don't want those pesky hearts getting you out of the damage zone.

Hello, just pulled GZL and I'm wondering what team I should build.

As subs I have marine rider, kushinada, chuchu, ADK and I'm trying to roll for a Sasuke since I've heard he was good. Which subs should I pick for this team?
Phoenix 6 years ago ( 7.2.2 )
You basically have the perfect team sans sasuke with kushi, marine rider, and cu chu (make sure to go ignis). The one thing I do think might be a nice touch would be a "boss killer" like Gsonia or Genbu, but you can just stack water orbs and pop marine rider pretty easily if you don't. I personally don't use ADK because he isn't attacker, but with a 5 turn fire change and TPA he could definitely find a place on the team. One thing I think a lot of people make the mistake of with GZL teams is feeling like they have to maximize the subs for attack, but with 4 matches of 4 and his active, GZL is easily dishing 2 mil+ at max level. What he needs is utility. So I suggest you keep that at the front of you mind with sub selection. The three biggest needs are getting rid of hearts, being able to take a hit (DR for first floor big hits), and getting green orbs in that order.

what do you think?
By Cannibox 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Picked him up in the last godfest, along with a Shiva and a Lu Bu. Can't wait till I can gather some good subs for him.
By IAmRandom3 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
I have a bunch of friends with this character now and use him with my Artemis team. Quite impressive damage output potential. 32k+ health, can burst damage under 80% health for 300k-500k depending on combos put out. Mixed with orb changing and row enhance and 2 prongs and all that of the team I can put together ... phew ... gets pretty good.

By milkyway 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Question about prong attacks: If you match 4 orbs does it do the extra damage for the entire team, or just all with that color, or just the monster(s) with prong awakenings of that color? Also, same question for row enhancements. Is it just for the monsters with the awakening or for all with that color or entire team?
Phoenix 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Prongs are applied to individuals only, and I believe only to the applicable color. Rows apply to the entire team's attacks of that color.
By Baalhamon 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Hello all, trying to build a thoroughly decked out wood team, have 2 ZL, would like to end up with both as GZL. Have plenty of other subs. Question: Is GZL better utilized as a spike team leader or as main subs for attacker teams?
Vanrig 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
I'd say spike team because of the x4. X16 if your friend has one as a leader also.
Phoenix 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Generally as a lead, but he is quite good as a sub on a Horus attacker team as well. I'm working on building my Horus leads, sub GZL, Awoken Neptune, LKali, *Situational Sub* Yomi?. I saw some person using almost that exact build to clear most dungeons, not to mention they are all vital components and even leaders of amazing teams. Finally a team full or leaders I can hypermax and not regret!
By Mtw FTW 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Im gonna get you tonight when you sleep, and when I do, I will put you on my Athena team. Muahahahahahaha
By milkyway 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
It's a nice thing baby valk has three two pronged attacks and a green sub color so I can use her on my GZL team. She is also a heart breaker which is nice to use in case of too many hearts about to make you go over 80% hp. She is not an attacker but the color and two pronged attacks are what are most important on a GZL team. You can use them on any turn as opposed to a skill which has a warm up and cool down you have to wait for. A green/dark/light GZL prong attack team is in my dreams. Its easy enough to get 4 of all 3 colors matched with just a few orb changers for boss.

By Tyriks 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
What are some okay farmable subs for him? My all water team is having an increasingly difficult time (no good ATK boosting leaders), so I want to build a backup team up around this guy, who I pulled in the last Godfest. I have really crappy subs for him currently, but I enjoy using him on lower level dungeons if I need something for an evo, so I would like to make a usable team around him.

Currently, all I have to choose from is:
Wind Archdemon Astaroth
Earth Guardian
Earth Dragon
Green Chaser
Heavy Infantry Hobgoblin
Mid Wood Ninja
Taur Demon

Most of these are ones I recently started leveling for the sake of this team, so they aren't that high level. My main team is running t5 dungeons but I have an extremely hard time getting keepers of rainbow which I need like 8-10 of to evo stuff so my progression is stalling. Any advice would be appreciated!
uncleaner 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
From that I'd make a team of GZL, Astaroth, and Golem, and try to farm a Chu Chu and Athena. Not going to be easy getting them though.

Also if you're having trouble getting Rainbow Keepers get some Green Odin friends, they make that dungeon a cakewalk.
tachii 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
You can get an Ancient Dragon Knight which is in coin dungeon rotation right now.

Good stats, a TPA eventually, and good orb changing ability.

GZL can clear Keeper of Rainbow by himself (make sure you evolve GZL to get the TPA awakenings though). Just tank a hit on the 4th floor, sweep with one 4-wood orb combo, orb change with any orb changers you got, make at least 2 TPAs and use GZL's active skill. 900k HP is nothing even for a fairly underleveled GZL team.

Zhang Fei. If you can max skill him you get an orb changer and delay all in one. He is attacker and has a TPA. The others mentioned in this reply are good choices as well. I personally run Cu Chu and Athena quite a bit on my team. I looked at your box and that Vishnu would be pretty perfect with his double TPA

By NejiZolive 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
Him as a leader, liu bei, kushi, perseus and avalon drake and one team ready for use XD Lovely orb changers while zhuge liang can break the defense. Then kushi can reduce the dang damage WOOHOO and for u ppl that r gonna say well ur team isnt all attackers, well I don't have enough wood attackers so this is good for me.
By OrneryRa 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
I just rolled a GZL yesterday :) ... but I have a question that I can't find a simple answer to:

Say I am at 75% HP and make a few TPAs. Skyfall trolls me with some heal orbs and I heal up to full. Will that current attack be registered as 75% HP or full?

My assumption is that in that situation I will not get the 16x bonus.
kuma 5 years ago ( 7.3.0 )
You get the full bonus for that attack. It's calculated using your current HP.

By mazzafakka 5 years ago ( 7.5.1 )
my latest GZL teams:

- GZL (2 TPA's)
- Devoted Miko Goddess, Kushinadahime (damage reduction if you need to take a hit)
- Restrained Dragon Hero, Liu Bei (3 TPA's / orb change)
- Guardian of the Sacred City, Athena (2 TPA's / wood & light orb enhance)
- warrior rose, graceful valkyrie (3 TPA's)
- GZL (2 TPA's)

pretty orb-troll-safe and accidentally-heal-proof build.

- GZL (2 TPA's)
- GZL (2 TPA's)
- Restrained Dragon Hero, Liu Bei (3 TPA's / orb-change)
- Mighty Dragon General, Zhao Yun (TPA / orb-enhance)
- Gusting Prodigy, Sasuke (TPA / orb-change)
- GZL (2 TPA's)

11 TPA's, brutal damage but also kinda risky if you accidantally heal.

By Trioniks 5 years ago ( 8.0.4 )
Will this work?

Liu Bei
Green Valk
Zhao Yun (Just in case) or Zhang Fei
GZL friend

I also have Generate Earth Dragon, both Mei Mei's (not the awoken one), Warded God Susano, Guan Yin ping and highlander that I need to! I want to make a great green team.

「 」 5 years ago ( 8.0.4 )
I feel green valk and kushinada on the same team is too much rcv for a gzl team. I would suggest getting awoken meimei in for valk. Kushinada and susano are kinda interchangeable depending on what you need for a dungeon, although the awoken susano that's coming out soon looks pretty promising with 3TPA. Another awoken meimei in place of zhao yun would work but that's up to you since awoken meimei's aren't all that cheap to make. Hope this helps.

So i really want a gzl for my verdandi team because i have verdandi lead and 3 liu beis and i just need gzl to finish it all off. But since hes no longer in the gfe anymore what would be the best way to obtain him?

my GZL team right now is

More Cu Chu
Wonder Woman
GZL friend

sort of a trashy version of a GZL team but I find it really excels at smashing the Tuesday Dungeons (haven't tried the hardest one because I'm scared) I don't get trolled as much by random GZL team destroying events and it's easy to set up the kill shot so anyway a use case for people who don't have all the exquisite REM pieces just yet

Pulled Bard Robin a while ago. Now this guy. It changes everything.

I was trying to use Robin with Melon and Green Odin leads and noticed that the two slimes that could boost his ATK had different colors. Than I looked up green attacker ATK booster and saw him.

It was yesterday.

Starter team will be:

- Leader: Melon
- ADK Zeal
- ForestBahn
- Bard Robin
- Zhuge Liang
- Friend Leader: Green Odin

Now I will look up a couple more team bind resist to use him as lead for the sacred masks.

This game just went from great to off the scale.

Edit: Melon/Odin calls for nuke/nuke/heal/poison and quick 3 matches in between. Tested in Endless and apart from the sweet time I can take to set 4 tpas with alternating colors, the burst is too low (GZL is not evolved nor awakened yet anyway).

It has to be: GZL - ForestBahn, Zombie, Bard, Zeal - GZL and Wonder Woman will replace one of the dragons later. Best candidate for replacement is Zeal, I think. He makes ammo but Wonder Woman gives you a turn, has a sub color for sniping at 16x, more HP/ATK, less RCV and will benefit from GZL active.

Just had to comment. This game trolled me so hard. Wanted to pull the Celestial Life Dragon, instead I pulled this guy. And then another one. and other one. Ended up with 4 of him in 5 rolls and no Celestial. What a tease...
By Rockhound 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
This monster is good in attack and lacks in HP for that reason. Good balance, but why have the first two awoken skills the same thing? Overall, a somewhat good monster to have, but not necessarily.
Kenshin 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
double 2 prong attack is amazing lol, its what makes him so powerful

1.5x 1.5 x 1.25 = making a row of 4 with GZL makes him attack 2 targets at a 2.81 damage multiplier + his LS multiplier

so a row of 4 greens with dual GZL leads will do this: 2.81 x 16 = 44.96x damage on 2 targets for both GZL.

Thats a crazy multiplier that's an easy to activate
Phoenix in reply to Quantum 6 years ago ( 7.1.1 )

Think I broke the game with the following team:
GZL lead
Green sonia
Liu Biu (wood/fire)
GZL friend
Ok, here's what to do, pop gzl, gronia, liu biu, athena all while under 80% hp and you can do 5-6 million damage PER MONSTER easy. Pop sasuke to clear floors like butter. I look at other people do a few hundred thousand damage and my gzl team laughs at them. Team prone to binding though. Don't see how you can use gzl as a sub when he's such a powerhouse with damage potential beyond your wildest dreams. Hope he gets an evolution he deserves soon.
Boromir 4 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
Lol. Most elite teams do several million per card, every turn.
HelloWorld in reply to Boromir 4 years ago ( 9.2.1 )
Just curious, what other teams can do this? I've seen teams that do a few hundred thousand damage at best, including Ra teams, etc. I'm not able to find other teams with this kind of fire-power reliably. I've been stuck with my GZL team for more than a year now and have a lot of good monsters, but none of them match this guy. I'm looking to change, but can't seem to find a better team.

Wood has much broader sub coverage than attackers. His leader skill is significantly easier to build a team around than Dark metatron's. That said, given his active you obviously want those wood subs to also be attackers which is where your sub pool becomes reduced to D-tron levels. The only truly worthwhile wood/attacker subs being Marine rider, Griffin, Sasuke, Gaia, Liu Bei, and Michael. Which is highly REM dependent and an even smaller sub pool than D-tron.

If you forget about his active for a moment he's pretty incredible and has access to two easily obtainable subs in the form of Cu chu and ADK. If you start with him you're gonna have a much easier time than you would with D-tron. And if you whale enough you can potentially put together a team capable of dishing out millions upon millions of burst damage.
Bert 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
Dtron and Green Zhuge are so much different, you make a dark row enhance attacker team with Dtron, and you make a wood two-pronged attacker team with Green Zhuge, their usage is so much different and Green Zhuge seems to be more flexible, and his team is so much cheaper.

Drey in reply to Conor SA 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
Don't forget Sarutobi Sasuke, he'd be really strong on a wood attacker team
kross 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
With the addition of tien from DBZ collab I think Zhuge is on par with dtron. And with the right subs you can run a decent two prong green attacker team.

Zhuge liang, marine rider, sasuke, tien, liu bei or piccolo (for sniping), Zhuge liang.

With piccolo, over half of your team will deal double dmg just by matching 4 orbs.
Bert 6 years ago ( 6.4.5 )
Another point to make, Green Zhuge can also pair with Gaia to suppress the RCV, and also for the guaranteed 3.5x which can be more stable than Dtron.

dang this guy is giving Ares a run for his money in terms of sheer damage output
atog 6 years ago ( 6.5.2 )
Don't just think in terms of leader. The double 2-prong plus 2k base makes him easily one of the highest attack monster on its own. Any team that likes a green sub will LOVE HIM TO DEATH. (like my Horus team.)
On a water type monster, 25x with 4 green orbs could easily go very close to 1mil just by himself. Didn't do exact calculation but it would be really close. Marine rider does around 1/2 a mil.
James in reply to Conor SA 6 years ago ( 6.5.5 )
@Conor SA: There's room for more than attackers. Given two Zhuge and another attacker or two (Sasuke, Marine Rider), you're in a good position to handle many dungeons and have room for another sub to serve utility. There's also room for an 'incomplete' Zhuge team to benefit from Chu, ADK, or other wood support. And even in serious use, for someone that has all the normal attacker subs, a utility support might be exactly what the team needs. For example, you could easily find a home for Kushinada in various dungeons to work through a strong hit at reduced health levels.
